Happy Birthday to my brother Germain (younger = age 68) and his daughter Becky (I think age 43). Gosh I feel old.
Our overnight guest Luka was homesick and barking at the door at 2:30am waking up the whole household, and maybe even the neighbours. I got up, called him, and he came with me to the bedroom where he calmed down and found a place to sleep with 5 others. As a result, I did not get up for the usual walk at 4:30am and let everyone sleep in until 9:30am. I believe the phrase "Let sleeping dogs lie" is very appropriate for that situation.
RedBubble dropped on me again this morning, refusing my upload and wasting my time, so I sent them another nasty note on their site. Lo and behold, I still don't believe it, I actually got a response that I was not the only complaint and they are finally investigating (rather than placing the innapropriate blame on us).... I don't know why I put up with them............
So I did poop and garbage patrol then we decided to transplant the Peach rosebush on which 5 new buds had just withered. The White rosebush appeared to have withered beyond redemption and I put the blame on us for leaving them in restrictive pots on hot cement pads... I hope the new root freedom will make the peach rosebush as prolific as our gorgeous multi-coloured rose which is along the same wall.
I made lunch with the cheese buns, Monterrey Jack cheese, Cheeze Whiz and mustard... Yummy for sure, and enough to save half for tomorrow.
NeNe finally got a haircut, manually with scissors from Cristina. At least one of our 3 furry babies is comfortable again.
I tried to nap, but Luka and Grigi were playing so much on the bed that I did not get any real shuteye. Grigi is our wunderkind for keeping the older dogs active.
I was up and ready for 4pm for the return of Camila to pick up Luka (she had been very specific about the time) but she has not shown yet. I honestly have a bad feeling that she left the dog with us to go elsewhere, ..... or to commit suicide.... Why do I have such thoughts?? Because a transexual wanting to be a woman would not go looking for work unclean, unshaven, hair a mess, and wearing shabby clothes. Who would hire such a pathetic picture?? I said nothing yesterday but it was sure on my mind. If she does show up later today I intend to voice my concerns and to impress upon her how and where to apply for a job... I sure hope that I am wrong.
Cristina is actually trying to sell our house again, apparently to a gringo. If we get the right price, deposited directly to my Canadian bank, I could see us renting a country place in or near Pereira for us and the dogs. Pereira has an airport, decent weather and nice surrounding areas (coffee country). That makes it the most attractive place for me. But it is also earthquake territory so I can't see buying anything unless it is dirt cheap and maybe able to withstand some shaking. Maybe near Medellin might be an option too, it also has an airport but I wouldn't feel quite as safe in the country around there.
