I slipped downtown to have coffee with my good friend Monica and got to enjoy the rooftop views from her apartment.
Then I decided to check with some other old friends and family of my architect who have several stores in the area.  I have been looking for a particular stereo setup and I was actually surprised to find something that will not only serve my immediate goals, but it also gets me a better form of android laptop for travelling.
The android laptop is much better than that Samsung Tab3 that I had because I can actually use a mouse and use input from USB which I was craving.   Those darn touch screen hate me so this one gives me way more options.   Also, I can use it to control my music machine to choose the music selections that I want to play....  Cool....
And the pricing was a lot less than I was prepared to spend......  Bonus!!
Now I need to probably re-do all my music selections and number everything properly but that will be a labour of love.
I am one step closer to starting the dance club that I want to form.   I am posting on GringoPost and GringoTree to gauge the interest and to get the names of interested folks.   I know there are a lot of folks who love to dance in this town....
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

Rooftop view toward San Francisco church

A little tighter shot.  Gotta love the red roofs.

There is also a view of Immaculate Conception's domes..

Here is my new toy laptop which gives me lots of new options..

This portable music machine has radio, 2 microphones, remote, etc., plus it rolls like a suitcase.

B U S   R O U T E S

Today I am performing a public service for all Cuenca residents.......
Following are scans of the 3-year-old Bus Route book (Guia de Buses) that hasn't been available for years....., however, to my knowledge, most of these routes are virtually unchanged today, errors and omissions excepted....   The 5 routes that come near my home in Monay are all really accurate.
I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the present routes, but these are a better guide than anything currently available (which is absolutely nothing).
There are, of course, some temporary minor route changes due to the TransVia construction, especially around the Las Americas area south of Feria Libre and at the western end of Gran Colombia.   You'll just have to ride your bus and figure that part out on your own.

Yes, there is no Route 21, and the Route 29 is actually called the 50.
I admit that I haven't the foggiest notion of the new routes in the 100 or 200 ranges that have terminals at Feria Libre and Terminal Terrestre......

I hope this is of use to many people and I am so sorry for not having done this much sooner.
Cheers, Al

We left Guayaquil around 4:30am and it was raining for a long ways into the Cajas, besides fog, a landslide, etc. which made the drive interesting.  I was hoping for a nice sunrise as we hit the top of the Cajas and I was not disappointed.
We tried to go to the Immigration office after 9am only to be told that if you aren't within the first 10 people there for a Mercosur Visa at 7:30am that you won't get an appointment.  Bummer...  We will try again Friday morning, early obviously.....
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

Monday - The first 5 shots are from Monday morning

Monday - On a good day you can see the coast

Monday - On a better day you can see Chimborazo Volcano

Monday - I love this viewpoint above the clouds

Monday - I could wake up to this every day....

Coming out of the rain and the fog on Tuesday morning

The sun is struggling to make an appearance

This looks real promising

Tough to stop when there are no turnouts

A blinding sun for the last leg of the journey

Gotta love the sun

What can I say, I love it!

The sun is hard on the camera lens

Mountaintops are not always pointy

Magnificent!!!!

My kind of morning....

Lots of rays to catch

Sliding down towards Cuenca
