Saturday November 30, 2019
Wow!  4 hours and November is gone...  Where did it go?
I actually totalled up my veggie costs for my evening salads, 2 cabbages, 10 cucumber, tomato, apple, granadilla, plus oil, vinegar, guanabana, salt & pepper.  I bought enough for 10 meals and the cost was about $11 USD.  Not too shabby..!  And I never get tired of it!  I actually look forward to eating it and it is disgustingly healthy.  I wonder what it would cost in Canada for those ingredients???
This is also the 3rd anniversary of my bike accident from which I will probably never fully recover.  Nothing is exactly the way it was before and my nervous system is still a conundrum, but we are still on this side of the grass and, for that, we are thankful.
During poop patrol this morning I saw that only one feeder still had nectar and 3 hummers were vying for supremacy there.  I took some photos then with the regular lens but they were crap, I didn't keep them.  Then I worked to refill all 4 feeders.
Then we went to the bank branch here to get 1,500,000 pesos (or $426 USD or $566 CAD) to pass on to niece Ana for the purchase of the classic Honda mini-scooter.  After some negotiation with Cristina we have come to an understanding.  She is always to have her phone with her and let me know where she is, for security reasons.  It is not really dangerous here, but if she is alone at night at the Animal Park I always worry about her safety.
Then we picked up 2 newly abandoned puppies at the Animal Park and took them to Adiela's for washing, flea removal and photos for adoption use.  They stayed there apparently because they are so cute they may be adopted out already.  That is alway heartwarming.
I stopped at Berthold's German Restaurant Vollkorn (meaning "full-grain") for a couple of his sausage in tomato sauce dinners.
I tried again, with the regular lens standing close, to get more shots of Tom Thumb but am not too happy with these either.  I am really happy with the rose pictures though.  It is amazing that all those different-coloured roses are on the same bush!
Then I had a nap surrounded by 6 dogs.  Someone is shooting off firecrackers nearby and some of the dogs don't like that, especially Negrita and Killer.  Negrita huddles really close after a loud noise.  It was so comforting to be with the loyal dogs in the quiet.  I love my doggies.
I watched a replay of the Formula One qualifying this evening for the last race of the season from Abu Dhabi.  My guy LeClerc will be starting 3rd, after Hamilton and Verstappen.  The race is on at 8am but is only on pay-per-view.  We will go to watch it at 7pm at David's and try not to know the result beforehand.....
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

The heart of a huge sunflower

Gorgeous roses

Different colours, same rosebush

I fall in love with innocent puppies

So cute, they will get adopted quickly

I always want to keep them

Abandoned by careless owners who don't spay their pets

Cristina works to get them good homes

Friday November 29, 2019
I slept like a log and sure didn't want to get up to walk the dogs, but I did.
Then Cristina said we should return the sterilized kittens (they spent the night here) to the AnimalPark.  I was surprised to see horses grazing there today.  There are just so many older cats and dogs that need homes and they are so grateful for the least attention.  It is such a sad situation.
Then she wanted to go do Black Friday clothes shopping in Tulua.  I agreed if she would give me definite time and place we could meet, because watching a woman shop for clothes is way down on my list of fun things to do.  She surprised me by saying only one hour, at the front door.  Of course it was 90 minutes, then she went into a different store for another 30 minutes.  Just standing around at my age is not good.  Then we went across town for groceries when she realized that she had left her bag of puchases from the first store at the second store....  So back and forth we go again.......
When we get home she informs me that she is buying a classic mini-Honda scooter for use only in town, where people ride around without licences.  It is $500 and she is insistent that she wants it.  She had one when she was younger.  German and Ana know the people and have had a trusted mechanic check it out.  I still don't know where we are going to put the darn thing but I know that I am also going to want to ride it....   My biggest fear is that I am hardly going to see Cristina as she gallivants all over at her whim.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
