Sunday October 31, 2021

The morning walk was again rained out so I stayed in bed until10:30 today.  There was no water available overnight.

Fine Art America dropped on me 2 times, after I had input all my work....  Luckily it is easy to replicate on FAA, not like RedBubble which wastes 1/2 hour of work, which it did for one photo this morning.....  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  I hate things that waste my abudant, but precious, time....

I showed Cristina how to make my fancy omelette at lunch and she loved it.  I said "See, your husband knows how to cook..", to which she replied "Better than me!"  That shocked the heck out of me.  Mind you, she does like it when I cook and she doesn't have to.  I am also teaching her to appreciate good tasting things,.. not the shoe leather and cardboard that they like so much here.

I checked to see how the situation is with David and it is not good at all.  For months, because of his inability to be active, his legs filled with water and were twice their normal size.  Even water pills did little to relieve the problem.  Then his caregiver tripped and landed on his legs, bruising them.  He has always said that he wanted to die at home, no medications, no hospitals and recently communicated that he was done, and ready to go.  He was bedridden with this latest accident and unable to move.  He was fed up with this life.  Then he had "an episode" and apparently decided himself to go to a local medical clinic/hospital.  So now the diagnosis was that he had contracted gangrene and the recommendation was to cut off the leg above the knee.  He went into surgery today.  This surprises all of his friends because he has constantly said he did not want to end this way.   We hope that he himself is making the decisions to extend his life, although it is not a life that any of us would want to live.  We feel for you David.  😔

Tomorrow is a holiday here and Cristina decided that she wanted us to drive to visit her nieces Ana and Natalia who have an apartment in Jamundi, north of Cali.  She has not spoken to them to see if they'll even be home, or if they have any plans.  Typical Colombiana logic....  I checked the route, which is 2 hrs and 5 mins, with 4 tolls, and goes through the length of Cali....  You can guess my response......  I offered to take her to the bus if she wanted to go.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  I got a couple of goodies of Tom Thumb today.

That was the day’s excitement.

Saturday October 30, 2021

My favourite constellation Orion was directly overhead this morning as 1/4 moon did its best to light our path.  It seemed to me that there were an overabundance of cats  and wasps too on the route we took.

Yahoo was reporting that the state of Georgia was being overrun by an infestation of "Asian Spiders" with golden webs.  They sure looked like Golden Silk Spiders to me.

So I decided to cut my hair and goatee, then clean the bathroom this morning.  That was my big accomplishment for the day.

I took my first batch of photos but stopped when my mind said I must have taken about 30 by now...  It is a mental guessing game that I am usually pretty good at.  And it was exactly 30 shots...

Claudia came by to drop off a female puppy that needs a mother.  I called it Choco because it looks like a chocolate lab puppy.  The dogs were all curious and Grigi immediately warmed to it because it was very much like one from her one and only litter.  Puppies are so cute,... until they start to chew on everything.

So we drove the puppy to Adiela's to go to Zoonosis where they have a nursing mommy.  Cristina decided to stay in Tulua to help for the afternoon again.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
