This morning at 8:30am I had to be at the IESS hospital to start another 20-day session of physiotherapy with Diego again.  This is my third time with Diego and we understand each other, plus he wants to practice his English.  So, today was cold packs on the neck and shoulders (my main problem is with my arms..), then ultrasound followed by strength and arm exercises.  I am still so frustrated at the lack of progress.
Then I hopped on Buzzer and went to my bank which had a monster lineup because they only had ONE teller working...  There was nobody in the Tercera Edad lineup and the security guard said to let 2 from the lineup go first then I could go.  I felt bad about that so I just went to the branch a Monay Mall where there was only one person ahead of me.  I was only updating my passbook and changing 3-$20 into 12-$5 for the dance tomorrow night.
I bought a new set of headphones for my phone especially because the last pair I bought just disintegrated in my fanny pack somehow.
Then I went to Coral and bought a huge head of cabbage for $0.32 so I should be good for another couple of weeks of lunches.   Then I went to a gas station and they had no Super gas so I went over to Geovanny Rios, motorcycle mechanic on Guapondelig and got my oil changed and brakes tightened for $8.  Then I went to a different gas station and, yes Virginia, they had Super gas...  I wonder if this is a result of them shutting down the Esmeraldas refinery for repairs and we will have a gas shortage..??
The big dance is tomorrow night and we expect a large crowd of walk-ins because only about 40 have registered so far.  A lot more people have said they would probably come...

I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day’s excitement.
Cheers, Al

I don't know why, but Cristina was up and about shortly after 4am, and I was not far behind, walking the dogs and getting OBG ads out and updating my photos for sale.
I had seen trailers of dirt bikes going by the hospital yesterday so I figured something is probably going on at the Honda track.  It was already 1:30pm when I talked Christian into coming with me to check it out.  There was no action on the track, but the Announcer was still talking on the speakers so we went in, against a lot of traffic making their exit.
We went over to the Benenaula family Mr Motorcycle compound and I introduced Christian to Andres Benenaula, the newly crowned Latin American Motocross Champion.  Andres confirmed that we had missed all the racing and they were just now handing out the trophies.  Christian was quite impressed with the facilities and the track.
On the way back I asked Christian if he wanted to re-visit Pachamama, or "Table Mountain" above the town of Llacao, and he said OK.  We were kinda surprised that the municipality had erected earthen barricades so no vehicles could enter the large gazebo area so people just walked in.  We didn't feel that energetic and took our photos from the road.  I had brought the Canon and the panorama is the result of stitching 5 shots together and the resulting PNG file is huge at 58 Mb!!
I finished this Blog, then walked the dogs and saw a lovely sunset.  I only had the baby Lumix in the doggie pouch but it had to do, sunsets wait for no man.  Because of the way our house faces, we don't see the sunsets, just the sunrises,.. so tonight was a special treat.
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day’s excitement.
Cheers, Al

This was the last day of the initial 20-day physiotherapy with Geovanny and again, any relief is strictly temporary, I am no better than when I started.  My new 20-day session with Diego starts again on Monday.
It was a beautiful afternoon but I slept through it, recharging my batteries again and a thunderstorm woke me up.  Once it abated I started my way by bus to Joes' Secret Garden.  Cristina and Christian weren't ready yet so they joined me later.
I had asked to be seated with some Spanish-speakers and we were fortunate that there were some people to converse with Cristina and Christian.  One of them, Beatice, was celebrating a birthday at our table.  One of the fellows began gushing about how perfect and beautiful Cristina was...  I had to acknowledge that I knew that...
The meal was delicious and extremely filling, especially when I get the appetizers and get to sample things in the kitchen....  Such is life in the fast lane.
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day’s excitement.
Cheers, Al
