As I said yesterday, I had had a very long and trying day, ..and, after photographing for Jennifer at Grits, I was quick to head for my cama (bed) and get some needed rest.
This morning I began the processing effort and spent about 5 hours easily before I was done.  The whole idea was to get a few candid shots of the girls during the preparation process.  Attached are some of the better efforts.
Please do not ask me anything about Grits.  They cater meals for individuals or groups, and their phone number is 097-912-9151.  All I can say is that I was suitably impressed with their preparation efforts.
I really am not sure that I enjoy the pressure involved in doing commercial photography and may just forego any future requests...  We'll see what the future brings I guess.  I just find it hard to say no to friends, and hate even worse to charge for anything.
Once those tasks were all completed I slipped out to get Cristina's latest test results at Monte Sinai, and the rest of the day is again devoted to rest.
Hugs to everyone.

Small afternoon update :
Coming back from MS I decided to stop at Coral and get more dog food and treats (the dogs really expect the treats when they do their businesses), came home then thought, oh darn, I wanted to get some keys cut too....  So I run to the neighbourhood locksmith and the son is there and cuts me 2 keys.  I come home and smartly figure I had better test them before I put Buzzer away...   They don't work..  So I ride back and the Dad walks in as I arrive and he pounds and files on the blanks, then offers to come with me to check that they work but I don't have a second helmet with me..  I get home, check again, and they don't work...  So, back there for a third time, this time with an extra helmet and Dad jumps on the back with his toolkit.  Within 30 seconds he has both keys working so I ride him back to his shop.  Total cost $1.50.
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day’s excitement.
Cheers, Al

Wednesday-Thursday September 27-28, 2017
Wednesday I took the computer in when TecMarket opened and discussed again what I wanted.  I decided on a cleaning, bumping up to 8Gb of Ram, replacing all my existing peripheral entries (USB, Card Readers, etc) and adding 4 more USB ports.
Then I had all day to play with updating all kinds of things on my laptop which I hardly use.
I went back around 4pm because Pablo said the computer was ready and when they proffered the bill, which was way too low, I knew something was missed,... they forgot the extra USB ports...  So I had to leave it there so they could get the part in from Quito overnight (none available in Cuenca) and they promised the computer would be ready in the morning.  While I was at it, I bought a new optical mouse.

Thursday was booked solid, starting with another meeting with Dr Ana Zhapan with my Ultrasound results.  She nixed any more ventures with 5 dogs or my shoulder would never heal (I knew that).  She checked and the Gabapent is apparently not available for 2 more weeks.  I told her that the Gabapent only helps me sleep, nothing else, and the Lyrica does not seem to do anything.  She ordered 2 more 20-day sessions of physio (2 more months).  I went to organize the physio sessions right away, hoping to get them early in the mornings.  I struck out right away when the first Physiotherapist only works 10:30 to 3:30 so I had to come back later and was stuck with 11am starting Tuesday-Saturday....  The second bout turns out to be with my buddy Diego again, third time with him and I was not encouraged when it sounds like I am going to get the same regimen of treatments I got before which were not very effective.
Then I went to get the computer, brought it home and hooked up eveything to the new USB ports at the rear.  I tested a few things and got caught up and had to run again.
I was meeting Irwin Sellinger, formerly from New York, who is also friends with Mike & Lotis.  We had very interesting conversation during our late lunch at the Black Angus (my first time there).  We concentrated mostly on his very successful medical supply business.  He is looking for a greater online and social media presence but I had already told him that my experience in those ares is pretty rudimentary.  Irwin said the burgers were big and delicious and there was no need to go for the double-burger so I took his advice, but I also ordered onion rings on a lark.  The burger was decidedly good (for $7) as were the accompanying fries, but I never did see any onion rings...
Then I zipped over to my partner George's apartment to pick up more flyers for our Hallowe'en dance.  I can spread them around easily too.
Then I went to find Jennifer of Grits Catering for a commercial photo gig.  Her business advisor wants her to have a bigger online presence as well with photos of the work in progress.  Three hours later I was trying to stay awake on the trip home.  I will process those photos tomorrow.  You will have to content yourselves with some sunrise pics from yesterday morning, almost like the chinook clouds we got in Alberta...
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day’s excitement.
Cheers, Al

Tuesday September 26, 2017
Monday morning I was at the surgeon’s office, Dr Omar Sarmiento, and got to see him pretty quickly.  He made me an appointment tomorrow with the Physio Doctor Ana Zhapan.  Then he checked and found that Gabapent is not available at IESS at the moment, so I got a prescription to purchase Lyrica instead.
Lyrica is another epilepsy medicine that is used also to treat neurological disorders.  I take them twice a day and think that I am feeling improvement.  Apparently, they are habit-forming, so I’ll have to be careful with them.  They say to not discontinue their usage, even if you feel better, and that a person might have withdrawal symptoms if you quit using them…  Great come-ons that I don’t really like, especially at $1 per pill.
I actually felt good enough to work on more photos to upload for sale…

Tuesday morning I went to see Dr Zhapan about the physio, gave her a description of my symptoms and she quickly examined my neck, shoulders and arms.  She detected problems with my right shoulder which I admitted is probably aggravated by the handling of 5 dogs at a time, several times per day..  She sent me with one of the new red-vested information guy to get an appointment for an ecografia (ultrasound) on my shoulder, which will be at 7pm.  Then I have to try to see her at her next office session on Thursday morning.
Cristina was off to a dental, then a medical appointment while I was on my way to the Camera Club meeting.  Or, at least I thought I was on my way until Buzzer decided to punish me for not running him yesterday..  I called Diego who said he would come at 1:45.  I went out at 1:50 and tried Buzzer for the third time and the bugger started.  I ran him quite a while and blew a little carbon out so hopefully there will be no troubles when I take the computer in for a facelift tomorrow.  Because the computer knows it is getting work done tomorrow it has really been behaving itself, but it needs the upgrades….
I hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day’s excitement.
Cheers, Al
