Friday I helped MaryAnn with the actual garage sale.  Even though you tell people that you are not opening until 10am people were there at 9:15 and sales were brisk.  A couple of items grew legs and disappeared but that is to be expected in this country with so little moral value.
So where has March disappeared??  The way time is flying I will be 70 years old and still in Ecuador ....
Today was a minor celebration for the 3 years of Herederos' existence.  There was supposed to be a small ride at 10am this morning but that got commuted to a lunch at 1pm.  I got the directions and arrived there 12 minutes early and, of course was alone...  Gustavo showed up at 1:20, some others at 1:30, and most closer to 2pm.  Again, such is Ecuador.  This restaurant called Tabloom Grill was new to me and came recommended by most of the group, and yes, the food was very good.  There was a sign on the wall for BBQ ribs, with another plate of rice and beans, and a beer, for $8.  So I figured that was good value until I got the toy beer for 50c, what a joke on me....
Some of the folks brought their kids and, while it was noisy, it was awesome to see kids playing  with the dog, climbing trees and laughing,.. instead of staring at video games...
The days have been quite overcast of late and it really looked like it was going to rain but the main clouds just slowly moseyed across the north and I got spared from getting wet.
After I returned home I witnessed yet another battle between Andrea the Giant and Tom Thumb for supremacy at my feeders.  When Andrea decides to come around, her sheer size wins the day.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

Tom crabs about it, but is powerless

I decided to help my friend MaryAnn with her Garage sale today so I decided to treat myself again to a Pizza House lunch on the way.  There are not too many places that can compare with their Meat-lovers pizza and today I decided to combine that with the Executive Lunch special, which also included 3 BBQ wings, fries, and a drink for $4.99.  Can't beat that for value...
While waiting I hooked onto their free wi-fi to kill some time and got asked by Google maps to review some of the places I had been, which I did.  Then it clicked to me how much our electronic gadgets actually keep track of everywhere we go, even in Colombia.  Frankly, I find that more thna a little disturbing.
MaryAnn is having her house sold out from under her so she is deciding that 10 years in Cuenca is enough and she is off to New Hampshire, or Ireland, or ???, who knows??  Anyway, her and the big lab Isabelle are selling off almost everything and, if I wasn't leaving myself, I would have been one of her biggest customers...  Lots of great stuff on the block, tools, lounge chair, weed-whacker, etc, etc.  And many good friends came by today for this preview of the actual sale which is tomorrow morning.
I had planned to go to the Herederos ride tonight but the afternoon tuckered me out, no energy or ambition....
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

Wednesday March 28, 2018
Well I must admit a little unexpected twitter of excitement at an early morning call on WhatsApp enquiring about the possibility of a group purchase of my house sometime in April....  There would be a few hurdles to jump but nothing insurmountable....  Here's hoping...
Again I needed to slip out of the house and exercise Buzzer so I decided to find the new location of T-Rex Burgers at 14-71 Padre Aguirre, about 7 blocks north of the back of the cathedral.  Cesar was there and he had a special on burgers on Wednesday but it was his description of a plate of nachos that swayed the day.  It has been almost impossible to find beef nachos of any type in Cuenca and I was so anxious to savour the meal that I, of course, forgot to take a quick photo of the finished meal itself, even though the camera was just inches away.  Good job Cesar.
Then I came home and read the other half of the book I started yesterday.  I am not normally an avid, avid reader but, once I start....  and it sure makes the time pass easier.
I am talking to Cristina on video on WhatsApp every day now because the boredom gets to me and I need to hear her voice, hear her laugh, see her face, and see the dogs.
I had a problem with the advertising of the house that was supposed to be Monday and Saturday for 4 weeks but it did not appear on Monday so I contacted GringoPost and they are running the ad every day this week.  Hopefully the right person will eventually see it.
