The suggestion by Cristina that we treat Miguel to lunch for his 68th Birthday was met with pleasure, so I thought we had made it clear to him to meet us at Mr Chuleta at 1pm, with Adiela and Ana Julia.  It would have been uncomfortable to put 5 in one car...  Of course, he misunderstood every aspect of our phone call and blamed it on his phone cutting in and out.  This was compounded by the fact that my phone does not ring loudly (or at all?) for calls, so I saw that I had missed 2 calls from him when we called him 20 minutes after the scheduled meeting time...

We gave up our table for a large group and went for a little walk to the park at Lago Chilicote next block.   I remembered seeing a turtle the last time there so I scanned the shoreline in the same place and I found one!!!

Miguel came to meet us within about 20 minutes with Ana Julia.  Adiela had to take a bath and would be along later...

Mr Chuleta was quite busy so I was shocked when we got our 24" platter of food to feed 7 or 8 people arrived quickly.  We ate and then sat and waited for Adiela to show up 1/2 hour later by taxi.  We had enough food to share a plate with a beggar too, and bring one plate home.  So ,we had to wait while she ate her meal, which must have been barely warm by now, but outside temp was 32C.

Then they decided to go for coffee at either La Herradura or LA14.  I said that LA14 was closer for all involved and I refuse to pay for parking at LH....  So, off we went and they had coffees while I had a cherry slushie.  The girls disappeared for 20 minutes shopping,... twice...  and Adiela took Ana Julia to the washroom and was gone 1/2 hour.....  I just chalked up the 5 hours to mending family fences and went along with everything without comment.  Miguel has always been a good brother-in-law and very helpful in our many visits and early days living here.

Happy Birthday Miguel.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
