Poor deaf Vanessa was contacted by phone, then email, by Expedia last night around 10pm, spouting nonsense that there was some problem with my debit card payment, so a ticket had not been issued by Latam Airlines. So I sent them a copy of my bank statement showing that the pre-authorized payment for the flight was already showing out of my account. They asked when they could call me at my Fongo number I provided, and I said "Now"!
When they wouldn't call, I kept messaging via email and contacted Expedia Support (again a misnomer). They promised a call within 3-5 hours (in the middle of the night!). Of course, no call, so I kept emailing and contacting Support who now said to expect a response in 48 to 72 hours when her flight leaves in 45 hours........... Dealing with complete idiots is not my forte, as you all know.
Finally, we decided to just cancel the order because we were getting zero help or empathy from Expedia for a 73 year-old great-grandfather and a deaf woman. This was supposed to be her first flight and it was completely ruined. I spent all day on this and now have to fight to get my money back because CIBC was also completely unhelpful at this point as well....
So, no photos today.
I did walk the dogs at 4am to try to force a phonecall at such an inconvenient time, but even that didn't work. They didn't even call when I was in the shower. BTW, we had no water overnight, but it came back at 6:21am.
So, I now await the arrival of Vanessa to give her back her cash and probably to re-connect to properly cancel Expedia in her name... What a nightmare day....
She has decided to travel by bus tomorrow which is a good decision because her first trip to an airport would not be a good experience...
That was the day’s excitement.
