Sunday November 28, 2021
This was taken one month before we lost this wonderful young man.
This day, our thoughts were all about our son Christian, which would be his 26th Birthday and the fourth Anniversary of his senseless death. We are still coping with the horror of his passing every day, but this date is the worst,... and the following holidays are virtually meaningless to us, as is religion. This is a young man that had just completed his courses, was excited about a good job in the workplace, and then was cruelly poisoned by the wicked stepmother and the police did nothing but interview people to see if he was suicidal.... Our anger and frustration is constant and unrelenting in this regard.
We visited the grave once, came home to make lunch for Miguel and Adiela and then returned to the cemetery with them again.
Then we continued on into Tulua to go to some auction that was supposed to happen in connection with the Zoonosis foundation for rescued animals. Miguel left us and went home. The fairgrounds had all kinds of animal-related booths but apparently we were too late for the auction. The only reason I came in with them was to go to this auction! Then we spent an hour wandering around and around to try and find some woman Adiela was supposed to meet... Grrrrrrrrrrr
Then we got word from Miguel that Cristina & Adiela's mother Ana Julia had been bitten severly on the leg by one of their dogs, Kiki, that is a constant problem. So Miguel had dressed the wound but thought she should be seen by a doctor. Miguel could not leave the dogs alone or they would destroy the house... so guess who had the fun of visiting 4 emergency rooms and clinics over almost 3 hours only to find that none could even look at her her...!!! That is the first instance I have ever seen of rotten service for medical treatment here, but then I have the Government insurance and I go to a specific hospital for assured treatment.... I was not impressed today. I expected slow service because it is a Sunday, but..... to turn away a senior is just plain criminal. So, tomorrow they will re-check the wound and see if a hospital visit is warranted.
I had mentioned to Cristina that Pizza would be nice while waiting outside the clinics so somehow that meant that I had invited everyone for pizza.... Actually, for $15 USD, to cover food and drinks for 4 people, and it is the best pizza in the country,... I am OK with it.
Cristina zonked out at 7pm. It has been a trying day for the poor girl.
I finally finished last night's photos and movie(s) and did the extra Blog for yesterday and the Cabalgata. I hope you saw it.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
