After the walk, chores, poop and garbage patrol, I got busy and did a little re-arrangement out back. I especially wanted to move the huge bougainvillea on the back wall to climb the 12' wall rather than spred wide. I hope it will stay.
Then I helped Cristina pick up Lorena's daughter Sofia from her home at the far end of town to come and spend the day to help relieve her boredom. They get to sit in front of my larger TV watching NetFlix until 6pm, then it is my turn.
We had taken a walk 6 blocks to a Government office here where Cristina got her replacement Identity card, the cedula. Mine is due in August and I was hoping to get a jump on its renewal. They said we actually had to apply online so I stated researching and got quite lost, to be honest. What I did find, were a couple of sites that claim that I can skip that and ask for citizenship and a passport! I am married to a citizen, have lived here more than 2 years, and, over 65'ers don't need to write language and culture tests.... So that is what I will investigate, but being far from Bogota, during Covid times, I can see that either route is going to be difficult, but it definitely makes more sense for me. We will have to see where this takes us. I really don't want to have to involve and pay lawyers if I can avoid it. It is bad enough having to get certain documents notarized.
While we were, there a very noisy street demonstration by peaceful strikers went by. I stay non-committal and smile, but I do not support their blockading of the roads and putting people's lives at risk.
