It was only sprinkling as I walked the dogs but lots of eveidence of earlier rain. I didn't stray far once all had done their business and the sprinkles became more frequent. We have had about 4 separate little showers since and the temperature has been perfect for this Canadian all day. A little rain never hurt anyone. Having spent many years in the shadows of mountains, Rockies and Andes, I am accustomed to swift weather changes. At least here the winds are light and there is definitely no sleet or snow.
I stepped out to pay the Internet/Cable/Landline bill 160,000 pesos or $43.70 USD and Electricity 120,000 pesos or $32.78 USD. With the decent exchange USD to CDN today, they are only $52.72 and $39.53 CDN today respectively....
Then I wandered 2 block down the hill to the shoemaker to pick up my one broken sandal that we dropped off Saturday. No name was exchanged between Cristina and him. The strap on the inside of my right heel came loose. So I described the sandal and he searched until he found it. I was surprised that I could barely see the repair and almost fell over when he only asked for 4,000 pesos ($1.09 USD) for the repair. He probably spent more time getting me change for my 50,000 peso bill than he did making the repair... I felt so silly.
I helped Aram again trying to get information to send their Husky Luka to Florida. He had undated vaccination and pedigree documents that need to be dated and translated. I have always really liked Avianca as an airline, good and friendly people. However, trying to find out information on trying to send Luka from Armenia to Orlando is an exercise in patience. From what I can see, they might be able to do it, on restricted days, accompanying them only. Cargo flights only seen to run from Bogota to Miami which is awful on both ends for them....
Aram is coming back for a movie at 6.
