We had our usual walk this morning but I skipped Gym because we were having a workman named Javier come early to check and fix our roof(s). Cristina has known Javier for years and just happened to run across him at an opportune time.
He came at 7:30am as promised and went up to check our roof thoroughly. The main house, I knew, from my earlier inspection is not in bad shape, just a valley and around the lavanderia needed adjustment. The real problem is the long patio roof. The roof is sagging in spots and one cross beam is close to breaking, and we will tend to that tomorrow, as well as add support above the lavanderia. Today he went and bought some plastic and put that along the top below the repired aluminum flashing. Then he re-aligned the tiles to the top the way they should have been. When that was done, we needed to go buy 35 more roof tiles but got 50 just to be safe. Cost was 60,000 pesos, or $16.12 USD. I can't imaging what they would cost in the US or Canada.
Then Javier and I got talking about birds, then travel, so he got a good look at some of my photos. He will be back in the morning.
Aram came over and we watched a really bad Indian (India) movie about terrorists. Oh well, they can't all be gems. Aram is also to come in the morning and help out. Javier intends to trim the mango tree so Aram can help out with that and with yard clean-up.
Oh, and I took a video of one of our Golden Silk Spiders attacking a captured wasp and wrapping him up like a take-out lunch that she later carried off. They really are fascinating to watch.

I hope you enjoy the pictures (The roof pics are backwards...Grrr).
That was the day’s excitement.
