Happy Leap Year?  I made my leap a long time ago...
Last night, while walking, I encountered the street dog Negro that we had taken for chemo in the morning and he wanted someone to play with, so I gave him a little attention.  Then he followed me home and stayed outside the door for a long time.  Cristina brought him some food and water but he has a place for overnight so we don't want to encourage him to come here.  He came back this morning for a bit but caused no problems.  He is such a good dog.

This morning, after the dreaded chores and poop/garbage patrol, we picked up the upholsterer and went into Tulua to a large textile place and chose a medium brown, plain, strong, breathable fabric to recover the 2 recliners and my office chair.  We even discussed getting more fabric to recover the cheap blue living room suite but could not agree on how much we would need extra.  That can wait.  We got 8 meters of cloth for 81,050 pesos or $23 USD.  So, he wants only 50,000 pesos to do the work (a ridiculous $14), so we actually could get away with $37 USD to recover 3 chairs.  I suspect it would be 10 times that at home.  He came in again to take measurements and took one of the prior upholstered backs as a model, and I sent him photos of the chair and a recliner for reference, because they are not square....
Pedro looked at the blue living room set and agreed that 6 meters of cloth would be sufficient.
Then we noticed Negrita's right eye was still giving her problems so we went to the vet.  It does not sound serious, requiring careful cleaning with gauze.  While there, I saw the roasted chickens across the road and got a craving.  I bought a small entire chicken, with potatoes and arepas for $18,000 pesos or $5 USD.  A chicken sandwich on white bread, with butter and salt and pepper, is a little slice of heaven and home.  They roast chickens with much better flavour here than they do in Ecuador where they seem to add the dreaded cumin to everything and ruins the taste.
Killer has been placed out back where it is cooler and he has more room to maneuver.  Well!  Maneuver he did!!  He was out on the lawn in the sun when we came home.  I hope that he doesn't scrape himself up too much on the cement which is not as forgiving as the tile in the house.
At 3pm Cris used our "bonuses" from LA14 to go play Bingo at 3pm there.  If you spent over 100,000 pesos you got a card to play.  Cristina said that she had 5 cards so maybe she will come home with some loot.  She is a lot luckier than me.
I washed the car yesterday morning but the rain is holding off until this evening.  It is cluded over and somewhat more windy than usual so I am busy trying to cool down the house quickly.  Hop eit rains good again.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

We will have a different living room when he is done.
