Sunday January 26, 2020
This was a very emotional day.  By 9am we had Cooper at the Huellas vet for more attention, medicine and IV.  The poor guy seemed to have deteriorated overnight, and yet Aram said he actually walked a few steps.  We left him there and returned to retrieve him at noon when the office closed.  It is the only one open on Sunday, and just for a few hours.  Cooper still did not respond well and had another IV and a small tin of food from the vet to take home.  Cooper had not eaten successfully in 6 days.
I had invited David for lunch and a movie and I had to delay him until 1pm because we were still at the vet's past 12:30 and Cristina and her group had a bunch of volunteers and firefighters working to effect a major cleanup at the Animal Park.  He got stopped at a Checkstop on the way here so did not arrive until 1:25.  We hurriedly went to the new restaurant again and enjoyed a lovely pork dinner.
David managed to open up his NetFlix account on my Smart TV and we watched 2 more episodes of "The Crown", now into Season 3 with a lot of new actors.  It is a little disconcerting to have so many of the key players portrayed by different actors all at once.  Later I continued the NetFlix at his urging and watched alone "The Two Popes" about Benedict and Francis' unlikely friendship.  I learned a lot.
We kept getting messages from Aram and Liliana about Cooper's worsening condition and there are no veterinarians available on a Sunday night.  If he made it through the night the plan was to get him to Buga for an ultrasound to pinpoint his distress and to determine whether he would live or not.
Unfortunately, no food for 6 days takes its toll on a body and the body reacts by attacking other organs to survive.  Near the end, poor Cooper had a purple tongue and was bleeding from the mouth.  Poor Yireh is suffering along with Cooper.  He succumbed around 9pm last night and was buried.  RIP Cooper and thank you for your company during your short 1 year with us.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

Poor Cooper is in bad shape as he arrives at the vet

Very sad-looking and not very responsive

Normally Cooper is always smiling.  RIP

Love the restaurant courtyard
