Well, it is finally here, the last day of the disastrous 2020! Happy New Year everyone!
I was out early this morning with the 4 dogs and did encounter Charlie, Amiga and the old homeless man. Still no sign of Negro. Following my chores, I had a quick nap and we got ready to go into Tulua.
Cristina is on a diet so we dropped off the plantains to Auntie Nativa and picked up diapers for Mom, Ana Julia. I made another stop to buy another small floor fan because the dogs wrecked our oldest floor fan in their excitement and rage at a big dog visiting the food and water Cristina puts outside. Personally, I think we end up feeding the neighbours’ dogs, not strays….
First, we hit HomeCenter to find a few things, like another lying weigh scale, another hummingbird feeder, after-shower floor towels (not sure of the right name), and more batteries. Then we went into LA14 that were checking cedula numbers to be sure we could enter. I went to the stationery section to get a 2021desk diary. They had hundreds of scribblers, notepads, etc but not one diary…. I don’t know what Latin America has against calendars and diaries.
We made a quick stop at Miguel and Adiela’s to drop off the diapers.
I went to fill the new hummingbird feeder but was stymied by not finding any sugar in the house. Remember LA14 did not have a single bag of sugar on my last shopping trip… So I walked up one block to the Andaluz grocery and got brown sugar and a few big sausages for the dogs. I should have remembered to buy cotton for their ears for tonight.
I took a few photos for you, processed them, and then
started to move all the year 2020’s photos onto my oldest, still old reliable, external hard drive,
almost 1 TB full now. At last count, as you will see, we have at least 3 adult and 3 baby Golden Silk Spiders out back.
Cristina went to the Farmacia to get drops to help the dogs sleep through tonight. Then she called to see if a payment went through our account. They had problems with the payment machine running out of paper..... Goodbye 2020... we won't miss you.
