Tuesday July 16, 2019
The routine doesn't change much early in the day, walk the dogs at 5:30am, do the chores and have a nap. Today I napped almost 2 hours more before getting fully mobile.
The I got busy downloading the apps that I use on the PC onto the laptop so it is almost a clone. I was a little more selective and didn't bother with programs that I never do use... I also backed up my important files onto a memory stick.
Then we got a call from David to meet him again for some "guy time" at La Herradura because that gives him an outing. We agreed to meet at 2:30pm. I was so engrossed in my computer work that I lost track of time and was 5 minutes late. Irma slipped off to the casino to lose money today and Cristina did some mild shopping. David likes to chat about old times, old jobs, successes, and just about anything. He is very knowledgeable and has definite opinions on almost everything, so it is always interesting.
Tuesday at La Herradura makes my eyes light up because it is $1 hard taco day at one of the restaurants at the food court. I ordered 6 tacos and got some hot sauce and guacamole on the side. They have a ton of meat and cheese so it is quite a meal. Irma doesn't like tacos so David had 1, Cristina 2, and me,... well I suffered through 3 of them. They are good, but they still will never compare with the kit tacos Jill and Todd made for us many years ago. I hungrily remember that I stuffed 12 down my gullet easily that day. They were the absolute best!
Then we said our goodbyes and made our way to see Adiela with my old laptop. I was setting up the IE and Chrome browsers for her as well, with bookmarks for GMail and Facebook when I discovered that I still had all my bookmarks in Chrome so I had to do some more cleanup. Hopefully I have cleaned out almost every vestige of my being on that old HP and that it will serve her well. I still left useful programs like Word and PhotoShop in case I ever need to help out. Natalia will be able to show her Mom how to use it properly. I even switched everything to Spanish for them.
Then Cristina asked me to go with them to the animal refuge nearby where Adiela often helps out. 7 cute puppies were in need of food and some TLC and I was to take photos to publish for adoption. They are below...
I got home to a notice that my new Nikon is leaving Kentucky, customs papers completed, and is expected to be delivered by DHL on Friday. Goody!
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
