I woke a tad late, and it had rained good last night, so we had a very abbreviated walk.
The hurry was to be able to watch the 5am match-up between Argentina (with Leonel Messi, the best player in the world) taking on Saudi Arabia. Messi scored on a penalty shot in a very dirty game with tons of diving and faking.. That is the sickening side of soccer. Then the Saudi squad, who played over their heads, scored 2 goals to shock the world by winning this game....
At 8am we had a good, clean scoreless game between Tunisia and Denmark. The goalies were superb.
At 11am Mexico and Poland also played a decently clean scoreless draw. Again, the goalies were the stars.
2pm saw France be shocked by Australia scoring the first goal. But Mbappe and Greizman for France were too much, as France controlled 80% of the play it seemed, and scored 4 goals, but they could have easily had 10, had some shots been on target. This game was clean, with zero faking, and the TV signal was bufferless for a change. What a pleasure to watch....!!! I am praying for a France-England final to really see good soccer end-to-end.....
Tomorrow, at 1pm here, I get to watch Canada take on Belgium..... Go Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cristina was out visiting all afternoon, and Sofia just showed up to keep her company.
The promised techie from ServiNet failed to show to increase my internet speed to 70 MBPS. AND, Movistar failed to show to pick up their equipment!!!! @#$%^&* Hate them guys.... I guess we will drop it all off to their bloody manager this time with a receipt to sign.... And they have robocalled us at least 6 times today....... I am so done with them.... Time to look for a different cell carrier.
