It rained around midnight and 1am again, but we made a very short walk anyway after 4am, looking up at a greyness that usually means more rain, ...and a bit of the crescent moon. And it did rain more later... That always makes it fun for poop patrol, but the rain wasn't plentiful.
Well! Predictions are right that $1 USD will buy 5,000 pesos before Christmas! Today it is already at 4,988...! It gives us more buying power, but devalues any money we already have here.... so bringing in money only as we need it seems to be the prudent option.
Carlos from ServiNet came again, semi-apologetic that the IPTV we bought is not exactly as advertised. I wanted to be able to have the "Guide" saying what is upcoming every day on the various channels. He doesn't use it, so didn't realize that it did not come automatically with the cheap package I bought. So I had to pony up another $3 a month... For me, it is worth it , and is infinitely better and cheaper than that blasted Movistar. He will have it installed by tonight. The World Cup starts on Sunday, so I am sure that I will be watching many games.
Then I broke a cardinal rule and lent him some money, with a signed I.O.U. This is to allow him to pay privately for a special heart test for his mother (he is an only child) rather than wait maybe months for EPS to schedule an appointment. Once they have the test done, EPS will schedule her necessary heart surgery sooner. It really doesn't amount to much money, but my experience with Latinos is so very bad... I also told him that once he has the "Guide" working properly, and he has repaid the money, then I will gift him the Amazon Firestick that he covets.... maybe the carrot will work..??
I haven't been napping lately but sleep has been sporadic again, so today a nap was necessary. Turi is always a few feet from me as little un-neutered Dary pesters her continually.
Then I got up, went and paid the electric bill and then got mostly dog supplies at D-Uno. I was shocked that Cristina did not want to come along, but she had spent a few hours at Aunt Nativa's where they were apparently replacing some of the roof. She came back pretty tired.
So, tonight we will give the IPTV a decent test.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
