It seemed to be raining pretty hard at 2am so I didn't bother to get up to walk the dogs at 4am. When I did get up at 8am, there was little evidence of any rain, so maybe I should have chanced it.
At 11am I received email word that my new Visa had been approved and I paid the additional fee (yes, another blasted fee) immediately.
A short time later, I received the actual (electronic due to Covid) Visa and was so amazed, BUT my euphoria was short-lived. The Migracion website says that the Married Migrant Visa is good for 3 years. Imagine my disgust when I saw that it had been issued for only one year! The anticipation of having to repeat this BS in 12 months makes me sick. This was a complete shock and I was angry! I contacted Luz Dary to help and she said because of the delays, I am considered "irregular", and that I had to complain myself, she could/would not help...!!! Needless to say, I am less than pleased with this Facilitator's handling of this whole fiasco in the past year.
So, I marshalled my resolve and dug into my emails and documents, recounting the rollercoaster ride caused by Migracion's delays at every turn, and requesting the Visa (which has a new number) be re-issued for the normal 3-year term in a 10-page letter that I attached. I left it in English because I did not want to be responsible for any mistakes in translation. I got a confirmation that the request was sent, so we will see how fast we get a response.
Now I await an appointment to go get the Identity card, the Cedula. Wouldn't it be great if they would reissue the Visa for 3 years right away so the cedula will also be 3 years??? I can dream can't I???
Cristina went into Tulua to help with animals again.
