OMG, September is almost over already and my hopes for getting to Canada this year are now completely dashed. My frustrations with Governments everywhere just grows and grows.
We left at 9am and arrived at Pereira city limits around 10am. We got in early to the Migracion office at 11am but I was again frustrated by the ridiculous systems and processes. I was certain that we were on our way to get a "salvoconducto" which I understood would be like a temporary visa to be in the country legally. I think that I am wrong once again.
We filled out more papers and had to get Luz Dary to email us our Marriage Registration for Colombia, which we obtained July 25/18 so Migracion could have a copy. Now we also have a copy.
They keep saying that it is a "process" that could take 3-6 months, probably involving many more trips to Pereira. While the drive is beautiful, there is a section near Cartago that always bothers me.
Since we were in Pereira anyway, we decided to make a stop again at PriceSmart to stock up on things. More cheese, sausages, vinegar, body wash, toilet paper, and more. I was so excited to find Cheeze Whiz in stock that I bought a nice supply along with other snack foods. We spent 743,200 pesos or $195.48 USD. Things aren't really cheap there, but the selection of good imported products makes it worth it.
