Last night, about 9pm, I took a small break from NetFlix (where I am enjoying the Peaky Blinders series) and watched out back for a bit and then went for the Nikon. Our friendly bat(s) were gorging themselves on bugs and I thought I would take a chance on filming them since still photos don't work. I set the camera on the Night Portrait setting and pushed Record. The video is not great, but I did manage to get this 1.5 minute sequence that is not bad at all, given the lighting.
Today the rain began about 7am and went on intermittently for hours.
I fought for 6 hours to find a program to trim the large video and then it was still too big to post directly here... So I had to upload it to YouTube which took another 2 hours (yes, for 1.5 minutes of filming).
