Aram and Liliana have decided not to buy the one bike, apparently because someone is donating one to them.  Aram had said they all needed one, hence 3 bikes,... so we just shake our head.  They are at the top of our wierd people list.
Nothing planned, nice day, and itchy feet combined for us to decide to pay our bills then go for a little drive.  We decided to take the road at the south end of town that heads east into the mountains and has some very pretty views of the Valle De Cauca (Valley of the river Cauca).  We had recalled that much of the road was concrete but that was not the case today.  At least most of it was freshly graded and the driving was easy until we came upon actual road construction machinery and were forced to turn around.
We also went a little north after that, but the afternoon clouds had rolled in and made it quite dull so the camera did not get any further use.
Our friend Irma from Johannesburg, South Africa, has been keeping us up-to-date with the demise of that country.  You probably don't see much in the news about the murders of white farmers happening daily now.  The present Government, if you can call them that, has had no plan to maintain any infrastructure, so all the utilities are rapidly fatally failing as well.  The country will soon return to complete lawlessness.  We keep urging Irma to sell out her condo for what she can get now, because it is never going to get any better, and to get the heck out before they start killing all whites.  That is the sad reality of parts of the old colonial world today.
On the bright side, we are safe and sound, as is everyone we know.  Keep up the good work.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
