Monday March 30, 2020
Saturday night it did not cool down much, 29.5C at bedtime and 27.4C on Sunday morning.  I got it down to 26.2C until Cristina started cooking and then it was 29.2 in no time at all.  The fans are more psychological than anything.  Only a real east or west breeze helps and they are rare.
Saturday night I finished the El Chapo series and then watched "Zodiac" as recommended.  Great high-powered cast depicting the fruitless search for the Zodiac killer in California.  Great movie, sad ending.
Sunday I had to refill Tom Thumb's feeders.  I had no Netflix so I finished the Bulldog Drummond book.  I started reading another very dated book and gave up on it.  The writing style seemed more interested in style than substance so I quickly gave up on it.  I managed to watch a Mission Impossible movie in the evening.  It always amazes me how they can milk a 15 minute doomsday bomb timer for almost an hour.  At least it's not horror or monsters.

Today I had put the tire sidewalls (that we had cut away to make tire dog beds a while back) around the sprouting trees in the yard for a little protection but the trees have grown quickly and have other sprouts near the base, especially the plantains.  So Cristina wanted me to take them off.  I went out with the metal cutters but they were no match for the heavy steel cord embedded in the bead of the tire.  My hacksaw and a lot of sweat finally got the job done.
I had bought a wasp trap and placed it between the Tom's feeders but it is not working, the wasps still prefer the feeders.  I occasionally go out with the electronic bug rackets and swat a few.  They still come back.
My hips, especially the right one still aches at night and occasionally gives me a twinge while walking, but the TENS machine gives me quick relief so I know the problem is muscular and not bone problems.  Thank heaven for small mercies.
Still no word from anyone about the lost laptop or the flight refunds.
At this moment my weather app says it is -11C in Edmonton and expecting a big snowstorm in 37 minutes...   Here it says 30C, cloudy and expecting rain tomorrow.
I stepped outside again out back and Tom gave me a quick visit for you.
We have the use of David's Netflix today which I will use shortly.  I am unsure if I want to watch movies or start a new series...  Everybody says to watch Outlander...  Maybe I will start that?  Still awaiting word that our own Netflix is operational.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
