Friday-Saturday August 16-17 , 2019
Friday we were busy getting things done in preparation for Cristina's trip to the coast with her niece, Ana, the boyfriend German, and his 17-year-old niece.  She was so excited to be going.  She had been talking about it all week.
One thing we had to do was get busy and plant the two "Prosperity trees" that her aunt had given her.  I looked them up because they look just like a corn plant, and in fact, thay are a Cornstalk plant!  All attempts at looking up Prosperity tree seemed to bring up foreign ponzi schemes....  Anyway, we planted them close to the hummingbird feeders, which is a mistake because it says they can grow to 6' or up to 15', depending which article you read.  They are hardy apparently but the ground is really bad along there so I really don't expect them to do well.
The neighbour that cut down that magnificent palm started today to burn everything.  The smoke in the neighbourhood is choking.
David and Irma asked if I wanted to go spend some time in Cali tomorrow since Cristina will be gone...  They suggested lunch and then cruise a big shopping mall for 2 hours while they go to a casino.  Saturday monings are always busy for me so, unless they needed me to drive, I politely declined.
I worked on photos all afternoon while Cristina went to the Animal Park.  She had a long face when she came back, saying that the trip to the coast was cancelled by German because he had other things to attend to.  I felt so sorry for Cristina.
We actually got a little bit of rain too.

This morning I did the dog walk and again saw the free range rabbit in that back lot.  I went to try to photograph him in the afternoon but he was well hidden.  I seem to see him most mornings before sunrise when he seems braver.
I did the poop patrol then went and trimmed that tree by the rabbit hutch.  I didn't want the spider webs encroaching where we do our activities for the rabbits.  I then broomed bugs off of the trunks and large branches on all 3 orange trees.  That is a never-ending battle.  The trees survive well, maybe because they are covered in Bat guana (shit).  The bats cruise back and forth at night and take their toll on the bugs.  Some night, when I have the right lens, I will try to capture them in action.  I would love to have several bats in residence here.
We did a quick run into Tulua, to LA14, for the usual groceries.  On the way back we put another set of blue flowers at the grave site, then went to pay all the utilities, totalling almost $100.  I even bought 2 more toothpaste tubes for $10, because I use the Sensitive expensive stuff at night.
My one sister (bless her heart) wants me to do more songs with my other sister (bless her heart too) on Smule (Sing), an Android app.  We have done a few duets together and a couple of them are not that bad but I really hate how I sound.  Since my accident I have limited vocal range and I don't sing like Pat Boone any more, lol.  I deleted the app on my phone too because it took up a lot of space I thought.  Anyway, it is nice to be thought of.
I look around me and our 9 dogs are all in different modes.  They all have such distinct, loving personalities that they are all engrained deep in our hearts now.  It is so hard not to adopt more, especially the lovable puppies, or the older or larger dogs that are so hard to get adopted.  They just want love and attention, just like we do.
The darn smoke from the neighbour all day today is affecting my eyes and breathing.  Latin Americans have zero respect for anyone except their own family.  They just do what they want, no matter if it bothers anyone else.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
