Boy! I can only take days like today in very small doses.
There is still no hide nor hair of the hare in the back lot so I fear the worst.
the rest of the day did not start well. We went to pick up a kitten for adoption first at the Animal Park. Cristina was taking more time than usual so I came to check what was happening. Marino made a motion to me that 2 were dead. It turned out that 3 were dead together and 2 others had maybe hours to live, so we had to take them to get euthanized. We can't stand to see animals suffer. We brought the two back so Marino could bury the 5 together.
Cristina was in a foul mood already so when a lady came to return an adopted puppy because she "had no space for it" Cristina unloaded on her with both barrels. I finally intervened and sent the lady on her way. I told Cristina that it was better that she brought it back to us rather than abandon it on the street.
The puppy came with us as we went to pick up a dog we called Bruna that had been adopted but Cristina had promised to get her spayed. Somehow, there was a spay clinic sponsored by Adiela and another vet friend of hers at the Tulua Refuge. So both dogs were taken there.
Cristina has plans for us to go for Ana's birthday Sunday to German's finca (acreage) so she needed to do some shopping. But first we had to go get some specialized dog food that someone was supposed to have paid for downtown. Like usual, there was no record of payment so it was 3/4 hour before she came out with dog food which we had to run back to the refuge.
We arranged for a birthday cake for Sunday then went to La Herradura, across the city, again. We had a nice Chinese food lunch and Cristina went into the nearest clothing store.
I went into Exito to see if they had the six-burner stove on sale and was surprised to see that it was, almost $100 less, so I went and got Cristina. The best price was if we put it on the Exito credit card. I asked Cristina if she had it with her, she said yes. When she was asked for it, oh, it was in the car... Then there was a problem because the limit on the card is was about $1 short and the system would not accept it. We phone the company because we intended to pay it off within 10 minutes! Then they wanted her original cedula. Oh, it is in the car.. The system still won't accept it, so we have to pay $19.50 more to just use our own bank card. I am fit to be tied by now at the ridiculousness of it all, like these jokers are doing their utmost NOT to sell the stove... We have to wait for the system to accept our information for 15 minutes before we can pay... We went shopping while waiting, got the gifts Cristina wanted, came back, paid for the stove and finally got out of there.
We called, and Bruna was ready after her operation so we picked her up and brought her back to her owners.
Once home, I decided that I would try the 70-300 lens that I had avoided using for over a month. I now wish that I had tried it the first day and sent the whole works back. I cannot get this lens to autofocus and it is just possible that it is not even an AF lens, meaning that everything has to be manual focus... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr By now, I am too angry to handle this so I just put it away to retry another day when I have a calm and clear head.
Tomorrow promises to be a crazy day as well and I am not looking forward to it.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
