The rain at 3am stopped me from going for a walk at 4am, after trying to quiet Negrita who was barking half the night. I finally got her into the bedroom and she calmed down.
At 8:30am we took Rio to Dr John Faber Rojas to get sterilized. We made a stop at the cemetery to add some flowers again. Then we went to the market primarily for birdseed as we had run out.
$1 USD = 4488 pesos today... On the rebound??
Later, we got the call that Rio was ready but we had a few preparations to make first. We loaded up a carrier and some water. We stopped at Martica's place to pick up 2 cats to go for adoption.
We picked up Rio at John's (cost 70,000 pesos = $15.60 USD today...)
Then we went to Zoonosis to deliver the cats and the water, as they have no water for some reason. The main reason to go there though was to pick up our NEW Mona, the 3-legged dog that would not likely get adopted. She is sweet and smiles a lot, especially when she gets any attention.
Our old aggressive Mona that we left at Zoonosis just ignored us, which really shocked me. Who says that dogs don't have feelings... Now we feel guilty for trying to keep a dozen compatible dogs.
I got a note from Migracion that they need a new passport-style photo of me in a blue or red shirt.... as if that matters for anything.... So we ran out quickly to a local photographer who will send me the results via email and WhatsApp. Cost was 5,000 pesos, so just over $1 USD..... They also seemed to be asking for a recipt for the Visa payment of a week ago which Luz Dary, our facilitator, will handle. The photo will also be sent to her.
So now we have 12 dogs, our maximum, and this is the latest addition:
