I see that many of us actually got a subscription email again about yesterday"s Blog!!  I wonder if this will keep up, but not likely, since they had told us it was being discontinued.

The dogs made me get up when I was going to skip the walk today..  Rocas was scratching, and Killer was barking for water.  The lords had spoken, so we got away for a late (5:20am) abbreviated walk.  The possibility of a magnificent sunrise quickly evaporated.

I raced through my chores to be ready to receive Carlos after 8am to work on The Doors.  I prepared clothing and went to get my hiking boots and they were in awful condition from having used them in wet grass months ago..  Aha!  I now have Saddle Soap!  It is amazing how quickly that incredible stuff restored these 14-year-old boots to almost-new condition!  I put together extension cords and tools that I figured we would need to be ready to work.

Once Carlos arrived, we got right to it.  He fixed my angle grinder to have the disc going the right way and that was a game-changer.  That little machine did yeoman work cutting off the extra fencing and grinding spots for the welding.  His little portable electric welder got a big workout too, so I imagine my electric bill after 5 hours will be a trifle higher.  Now I have never welded in my life, but I certainly can tell when someone isn't doing something right and taking forever on every tiny weld.  It is like he doesn't learn from his mistakes, but... I kept my mouth shut.

Cristina was off in Tulua again getting more flowers for Christian, etc so I struggled to make a quick lunch with my body rebelling at every movement.

After lunch, we got after the second door, using our experience from the first, to get the job finally finished.  A little paint will make it all look fabulous...  I hope we can find some Rustoleum enamel here.

We also noticed some further repairs that need to be done to the patio roof and under the front awning.  Nothing is major, we think...  I also am trying to contact a fellow who put together furniture for us before to see if he will adjust all our kitchen cabinets.  We have one door falling off and I just can't get my mind right to fix them myself.

The important thing is that The Doors are now safe for every critter we will have here.  Ever since we lost my fat Nina, this has been a crusade for me.  I take the blame for her death because I did not rush to repair a hole the dogs had pushed open in the fine screen I had attached to the lavanderia door.  I was too busy rushing to go to Canada and when I got back it was already too late.  Forgive me Nina....

It felt so good to shower after the 5 hours of hard work and to lay down for 1/2 hour.  I really needed a lot more, but....

Cristina came home and we took Rio to Huellas to get vaccinated (under $7.50 USD) so she can be safely turned over to Zoonosis soon.  The sooner we can get back to only our basic 11 dogs, the happier we will all be.

We stopped at D-Uno for milk again for the puppies.  It is amazing the amount of milk those tiny things absorb....

I was in no mood for standing and making my salad, so we stopped got Fried Chicken for 2 days for $5 USD.

It has been threatening rain since, and that is something we don't need.  The jungle is out-of-control and we need some drying to happen before Saturday morning.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
