Saturday-Sunday September 28-29 , 2019
Friday night they stsrted putting Killer in the wheeled rig to hopefully get him mobile again and wanting to walk.  He is slow to get his front legs moving and just dargs the back feet yet but every little session helps.  He is so lucky to have this wonderful group, the Animalistas (animal lovers) that look after these strays.

Saturday - It is 2 days now that I have seen a bat on out morning walk with the dogs.  I would dearly love to photograph one but that would be really hard in such low light, high motion, and getting tugged by 5 dogs.
We took a black kitten into Adiela's where a couple came to pick it up for adoption.  Miguel and I slipped in to Dollar City where we stocked up on candies and I got a new larger hand mirror for the bathroom.  Nah, I am not superstitious....
In the evening Cristina formally invited me to go to a Bingo put on by the Animalista candidate for Municipal Councillor, who was also a former Mayor of Andalucia.  She said it started at 7pm but we didn't leave the house until then...  Being a silly Canadian who still thinks that time matters I didn't enjoy waiting another 90 minutes for things to get started...  Having run a large Bingo in Edmonton (like the All-Nite Bingo we had during the Edmonto Tornado July 31, 1987) where people play multiple cards, it was a bit of a rustic throwback for me to play a single card for about 15 games and a caller who has the Bingo balls in a hand-rolled cage.  Nobody at our table won anything but these people passed around, pop, wine, candies, chips, and piggy puffs.  And there was an overflow crowd which really surprised me.  Politics is a huge thing in Colombia even though a lot of them get rubbed out if they offend the wrong group of druggies.  We were there until midnight!

Sunday - The sad news for me is that the rain began at 4am, woke me up and I watched the clock until I got up around 5:10.  I couldn't walk the poor dogs in the downpour so I made coffee, did the SS+S routine, and was at David's by 6am for a nice breakfast and to watch Formula 1 from Sochi, Russia.  The roads were dry once I hit Tulua itself but the rain caught up with us later, but with much less intensity.
My guy, Charles LeClerc had the pole position and he and his partner Sebastian Vettel jumped out to a 1-2 lead, followed by the Mercedes team of Hamilton and Bottas.  Vettel had to retire with engine problems later and the pit strategy of the Ferrari team was faulty as Charles ended up third behind Hamilton and Bottas.  They are all good aggressive drivers and fun to watch.
I came home just dog-tired and went straight back to bed but could nor sleep with the dogs playing tag in the room.  They need the exercise so I do not stop them.
At 11am we were on our way to Adiela's with 9 kittens from the Animal Park.  The rain had let up so they were going ahead with yet another mostly political event at another park in Tulua.  This one was being run by another Animalista, Sara Duque, who ran the last large adoption event.  I was surprised and pleased to see that she is running for Councillor in Tulua.  With her good looks and good heart we sure hope that she gets elected to do some good.
This park runs along the river and there were horses, cattle and dogs roaming around.  There was a really competitive beach volleyball tournament happening, a few vendors and some good food.
We would have liked to have seen a larger crowd but we did manage to get 3 kittens adopted out so the day was a success.  The one English-speaking fellow from Wolf and Fabiola's party had been in contact with me this week so I told him where we were.  It turns out that he lives just 6 blocks away so he came by to visit us.  We were there until 5pm when the sky was spitting at us again and I had no dissenters when I suggested that we call it a day.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
