The dogs started pestering me at 4:30am so I gave in at 5am and took them for a dark, early walk.  It had rained at some time in the night so everything was a little soggy.  I am not a fan of walking in wet flip-flops.
Watching the Formula 1 race at David's was called off because his new app was not letting him access.  What a bummer, he buys their best package and it doesn't work..!  I can watch it at 10:30 tonight but I doubt that I will last past 8pm...
So we got busy with plannning, cleaning, washing, cutting, and more for the expected company later.  I gathered oranges and made a jug of juice.   I cleaned and cut the celery stalks and gathered my spices and chilled the vodka.  I made a new pot of coffee too.  Then I had my salad for lunch and did my clean-up.
I did not have to go and pick up Aram and family because they decided that 3 blocks in the wheelchair was manageable, and they showed up misraculously right at 2pm.  David came by at 2:20.
I had Antipasto and Ritz on the table and that was a big hit.  Then I got busy making our Canadian Calgary drink, Bloody Caesars, because we were able to get Mott's Clamato Juice at LA14.  I hardly drink at all and can't honestly remember the last time I enjoyed a Caesar, but we 3 guys had 2 mugs and loved every minute of it, draining the 26 oz.  Cristina had a few sips of mine but Liliana and Yireh, her 10-year-old daughter, don't drink.
Aram is a Kurdish Jew who fought ISIS for 3 years in Iraq.  Then he did counter-terrorist training in Norway and Finland.  He has traveled a lot.
Liliana was born here in Colombia but lived a lot in Miami with her mother where Yireh was born.  So we had 4 different nationalities breaking bread today.
Yireh was a delightful guest and thoroughly enjoyed being with our 10 dogs.
Then we brought out the surprise cake for David's 78th Birthday tomorrow.  Yes, 78, not 79, so I was smart to get the 3 numbers yesterday.  This was a wine, fruit and nut cake but looked like a chocolate cake.  It actually was quite tasty.
I saw 3 hummers at dusk vying for the feeders but the Tyrian Metaltail was chasing the others away.  Bad shots.  Sorry.
I have it on reliable authority that the Google subscription is glitching again..  Not my fault and I do want to keep my readership so I hope you folks will bookmark the page and visit often.  I enjoy your occasional feedback.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

Aram, Liliana and Yireh

Nice family

Liliana broke her foot

Aram and David trading stories

Yes, David is 78 tomorrow

He enjoyed the surprise celebration

Aram is grateful for someone to talk to

Yireh speaks 3 languages

I missed half the tail...  Bad shot..  Hurried

Missed half again.  I blame that on the Caesars.

Sitting still he is a handsome boy

The beak is open like he is talking
