Saturday May 25, 2019
Last night our proposed meeting for today got postponed until Sunday afternoon.
I heard the rain around 3am but it had stopped by 5:30 so the dogs got their walk.  I then hurriedly did my chores so I could watch the Formula 1 qualifying runs at 8:10.  My favourite driver had a bad first run so he will not have a nice position for the race (in Monaco tomorrow).
It was time again for a breakfast treat so I made myself the smoked bacon, poached eggs and toast.  A breakfast only topped by back bacon.
Then I tried to improve my display from the computer and ended up inverting the colors (like a negative) and I was sure swearing a lot (at myself) before I found the way to fix it.  So now the computer display is back to normal but I am still having no end of trouble with simple copy and paste.  I don't know how long I will put up with this crap...  My whole rear panel of USB ports are useless, and they are less than a year old.  I keep hoping that it will sort itself out.
Then I had a knock at the door and it was my new friend Aram seeking translation help to go and donate blood at a Red Cross bus in the park.  He is a former soldier so he knows the value of donated blood...  He had donated previously in Cali but this bunch was refusing him for some unknown reason.  I honestly don't know what i, with a telephone call to his wife, managed to change their minds.  I helped translate for the application questions and he was happy to help them out.
While he was donating I went to a nearby bakery to get a cake for tomorrow.  David's birthday is Monday so we will celebrate tomorrow as well.  I wasn't sure if he is turning 78 or 79 so I got numbered candles 7, 8 and 9.....  Maybe I will use all 3 for a laugh.
Then it rained again.  I lent an umbrella to Aram to walk home.  Cristina wanted to go to the Doggy Park so I drove her.  The nice old fella, Marino, who doles out the restaurant donations was there as well.  They are dealing with a set of puppies and a set of kittens.  I just want to wrap them all in my arms and bring them home.
Now I will go and try to get my Smart TV to work from my phone but I am not at all hopeful.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
