The walk with 4 dogs went well this morning with only one low star in evidence. Then I did my chores with the intention of watching the Canadian men take on China in hockey, just to see if they blow them out or not... For some reason CBC would not come up at all, no matter what I tried so I ended up watching a really poor, balky feed from England. 3-0 after on period and I gave up. Later I saw that they only won by 5-0 so either they let up on the Chinese (not a good move because goal differentials can have impacts) or the Chinese got better.
I had a short nap then, because I felt an east wind in my favor, I decided to tackle burning the pile of brush I had been saving next to the barrel. It had been dry for a couple of days so it was worth a shot. It took a long time to get the leaves and twigs in the barrel to show flame, they must have been wet yet, but eventually I got the whole pile in the barrel. It was a lot of bending, but I was careful and nothing was very heavy.
Then we took Violeta over to Carlos' place to live. We interrupted his nap with Ruby but they were happy to meet the new dog who was on its best bahavior once we gave it some toys to play with. They should be happy with Violeta as a new pet.
Cristina wanted to go for a drive but my ass was dragging from all the exertion so I only went to BugaLaGrande and let her get a cholado. I walked over to the grocery store where Leonel works as a security guard and got some bread and baby wipes. Cristina wanted to go further but I was just bagged.
On th way home we stopped by a "wake" of buzzards feasting on a poor dead dog. It is sad, but that is the cycle of nature here.
I headed to bed after double-checking the burning barrel and trying to see if there were enough embers to ignite a stalk of plantain from the disgusting pile in the corner. The answer was no. I with have to spread that festering pile to let it dry out first. I really needed that nap.
Cristina finally got around to making another batch of my Mom's outmeal squares. Yummy!!!
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
