For a while now we have been tossing around the idea of selling this place and moving to Roldanillo, closer to the airport and shopping at Pereira.  So, today Cristina said there was a place to look at in Roldanillo so we went for a ride to look-see.
Cristina was raised in Roldanillo but still did not know the area where her friend was taking us, up an awful road to a place "10 minutes away" in the country.  We drive for 15 minutes and encounter the road all blocked except for motorcycles, they are making a cement road.  I ask how far it was from there and he again says 10 minutes.  Grrrr.  Latin American time is but a lie and preparation is non-existent.  Nobody bothered to call the owner, tell him we were coming, or anything, where we might have been told not to come by car...  The place was out of our price range anyway and not situated anywhere I would want to live, after pounding poor Lizzie on that terrible road.  It was also a very cloudy, threatening day so any phgotography was just so-so.
On the way back I finally managed to get photos of the Emergency (free) numbers posted on signs along the highway.  I have been wanting that information for 2 years and finally got it to keep in the car.
We came home and spotted a lot of hoopla about another new market opening called "Justo y Bueno" (Fair and Good) so we walked over later.  They must be a franchise chain because they had their own brand of some things like toilet paper.  They were clean and bright with large aisles and everything was well marked.  Their prices were just comparable with D-Uno and the selection much the same.  I did like the looks of their big sandwich bread package for under $1.    We bought a few things then Cristina decided that we needed to stop at the vet Huellas in the next block to check on a dog.  They had a new counter set-up inside and the old small counter was sitting outside the front door.  I asked about it, thinking of using it on the back patio, and they said it was headed for the trash, so it was free.  I showed it to Cristina and she figured they could use it better at the Animal Park so she called Claudia to pick it up in the morning.  Then she was meeting another lady there about a cat so I walked home alone with our purchases.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

The mountains are where the paragliders congregate

Lovely drive but hard to see the potholes

Very pretty scenery

Entering Roldanillo

Many pigeons at the central park

The road is blocked!

Leaving again, crossing the wide river - south

Now looking north

I made a collage of the important road emergency info
