Thursday April 18, 2019  Updated
Yesterday there was morning rain so the dogs didn't get their walk.  The the power blips started again, just enough to shut the computer and every clock needs to be reset.  A royal PITA.
Then we waited for Omaira and her sons to show up at 10...  About 4pm she tells us that her brother had dropped by so she couldn't come... maybe tomorrow..
So I invited David over to watch my third gold movie, Tin Cup amd he thoroughly enjoyed it, especially when I satisfied his craving for microwave popcorn.
Today, it was all wet in the morning again so the dogs had no walk for a second day.  The wet grass is so long in the back that I called the lawn guy to come tomorrow at 7:30am so he can put the clippings at the curb for the Saturday pickup.
We went to get ready at 9:30am for the arrival of Omaira and the younger handsome son, Jhorman, and the water was out again, not to return until 4:30pm.  This is getting to be very tiresome.  Saved water sponge baths saved the day.
I BBQ'd one package of 14 cheddar cheese-infused Smokies purchased at PriceSmart.  Mmmmm, what a treat.  The dogs got to enjoy a few as well, even Zeus.
The Zeus (2) story was posted by Adiela (shared by me) about the goofy owner who claims that Zeus would not eat, and that she was going to have him put down...  Poor Zeus 2 is a mostly toothless old male that is just skin and bones because of that owner who is being denounced.  The upshot of this is that people have been streaming to our door with donations of food.  The transformation of Zeus 2 in the 2 days here has been nothing short of miraculous.  He is devouring everything that we put in front of him, kept soft on purpose, and he has resumed his vigourous search of the house, especially after mice.  This upsets Cristina but just may be a factor if we decide to keep him.  He is a typical big dog, hard to budge, probably mostly deaf, and completely unaware of the room that his bulk, and wagging tail, occupies...  However he is on the mend, is a great guard dog, and that makes everyone very happy.
We had many of the donors stop in to see him and to visit, plus Adiela came by as well.
Mr Vermilion Flycatcher came for a visit today and I got some nice shots, while the Common Tody Flycatcher was here, but camera-shy.
Update:
Then the gals went off to see and feed Zeus1 amid growling thunder.  They came back and we bought the cheap fried chicken for everyone.  They had gone to resue Estrella, Nina's sister, who was roped up at some guy's place supposedly for his protection, outside, with no food and water.  Our niece Lina had lied to us as to her whereabouts.  So Omaira and Jhorman, who had recently lost their dog suddenly, decided to adopt Estrella!  That is a good fit and they got along well.
So, for the moment we have 10 dogs in the house.  So, when that darn cat crosses our roof to our back wall the noise is deafening.  But we love all our dogs.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
