We met David at the German Restaurant, Cafeteria Alemana Vollkorn for coffee at 10am and had a snack there before transferring to his condo.
There we watched motorcycle racing with riders going up to 347 kph on the straightaway. The race was super exciting with a dramatic lead-changing finish. David was a great teacher as to the bikes, histories and strategies of the riders and their teams. A Ducati finished first by a hair, followed by 2 Hondas. The favourite, known as The Doctor, came in 5th. As a result of David's first-class tutelage, we are now a fan.
Then David took us to his and Irma's favourite restaurant Yerbabuena (we had talked to Irma on Skype before leaving David's place). I showed off a video received from Irma on WhatsApp from one of her friends, a safari guide, about a close encounter with an angry herd of elephants. I wish I had been with that group because the footage was incredible.
Then we enjoyed a light lunch that was very tasty and well prepared. I had a green salad with chicken, Cristina had red beans, and David had soup and tacos.
All in all, it was a very delightful day with good company.
After being out for 6 hours, the dogs were very happy to see us and no harm had come to the new visitor, Estrella, thank God.
Time for a nap.....
