Saturday March 30, 2019
The morning was a huge rush... up at 5:30, walk the dogs, then pick up the poop in the yard to have the bags ready for the garbagemen. Hurriedly upload my photos and do my emails and shower to be ready to leave by 8:30.
We had an appointment at the cel shop in Tulua at 9 but Cristina was just dawdling, then insisted that we go get some tamales across town to bring to her mother.
We pick up Miguel and are at the cel shop around 9:25 and the guy is gone... He is called and agrees to return, thank God. Miguel and I walk to a bakery and on the way back I spot a sign where someone is selling cel service including 500 minutes to Canada/USA. In the next block I see a Movistar office so I enquire there about this. Yes, I can change to that kind of plan, same price, no problem, starting April 27th. That may solve 1/2 of my problem. At least I can phone out cheaply..
So we rush Miguel home, then Cristina to Andalucia where she needs to stop at the pharmacy before home... We check with a drive-by the expected doggie donation event at the main park where Cristina and Claudia will go later and it seems quite busy.
Of course I have an appontment to meet the guys to watch Formula 1 qualifying, then Moto GP qualifying for Sunday's races. Of course I am very late.
I am beginning to enjoy the intrigues of the racing world, especially under the tutelage of the very knowledgeable David and Wolf. Those guys are encyclopedias.
I get home just dragging my butt and heading for the nearest pillow. I drive by the central park again and it is just dead, not much happening. I go to bed, but I can't sleep because the dogs want to play, Cristina is going to the park with Claudia with dog food donations we bought yesterday, and I wanted to see what is happening now, 4pm. Really, nothing was happening except a very bad heavy metal band was blaring our ears off. I have a hamburger, stop for an ice cream cone, and am on my way home when my phone rings.
Cristina wants help to transport an old fat pitbull that is sick and can't walk to the vet. So, off I go again. The vet says the dog has a fever and gives it a couple of shots and we bring it back again, already looking better.
Then she wanted to go to the dog park to help Marino and Claudia so I stuck around. I walked the Mommy dog until she did her big poop then played a little with the pups. The tan baby boy I call Gordo (fat boy), and the one-eyed baby girl I call Jacqueline (as in one-eyed Jack). They are so very active and fearless, wanting to play fight and do tug-of-wars with everything in sight. Then the little kittens melt your heart as well. At least we know, and they know, that they are loved and well cared for. Nobody is starving, that's for sure.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
