Yesterday I actually received a call from CIBC!  Surprise!  Only 3 days later than promised, but... then they shockingly suggested that we can do thing via an encrypted email server like protonmail.com, but not the ones everybody hacks like GMail, Hotmail, etc.  So, I actually set up such an account and it seems to work well.  However... when I go into online banking and try to register the new email it just stalls on a white screen....  So I send them another note...  I don't know what it is with CIBC this past year but they have been making my life miserable.
I really slept in then just relaxed and worked on photos all day, culminating on actually watching Jerry Maguire on TV...
Today it rained most of the morning so the doggies did not get their walk.  Cristina suggested that we take her friend, the lovely Omaira and her two super-handsome boys, Jhonathan and Jhorman, to Mr Chuleta for lunch.  We met Omaira on her moto at a pre-determined location then she led us several blocks away to their new apartment, very small 2 bedroom, 1 bath.  I am sure that that is the best they can do, now that Omaira has separated from her husband and has found work at a gas station.  Such a sweet family.
I actually took 2 photos of the family in the apartment but they didn't register on the memory card.  Like I said, that little Lumix is sometimes too fancy for its own good.  Grrr.
We got to Mr Chuleta around 12:40 and Cristina was told that our order would be 30-40 minutes.  I quipped that, after our last experience, it is more likely to be 30 + 40 minutes.  I hit the nail on the head on that one!  They get such huge family crowds on Sundays and people turn away because tables are taken by folks waiting over an hour to get fed...  The only saving grace is that the hugs platter of battered pork, rice, fries, salad and 3 litre Pepsi, and 4 soups fed the 5 of us with some left over for the dogs for $16!  We were so stuffed.
We waddled over one block to our old stomping grounds at Lago Chilicote.  We then all got a crushed ice Cholado for dessert for $1 each.  The last few times we had been driving by here we noticed that the egrets are nowhere to be seen.  My egret tree (the tree in the center of the photos is actually in the middle of the lake) is now egretless... Sad.  Omaira thinks that maybe a lack of fish or other food is the reason...  We only really saw 4 Ibis and 2 ducks other than the usual smaller birds, and we were there well over an hour.
I was shocked to spot a turtle swimming nearby.  That was a first!
We dropped off the family and came back towards La Herradura to shop quickly at Exito for a few things we needed, 30 small sausages, 6 whole milk, a dozen eggs, cane sugar, 2 white sugar, bleach, a mop, and more for $23.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

Mr Chuleta is always busy on Sunday

Not enough kitchen to feed all these people quickly

The parking attendant's son was asleep....

We already had our first huge helpings of this platter and the rice, plus soup and drink!

Omaira and boys joined us for cholados as well

That center tree is actually in the middle of the lake

Sadly, no more egrets are here..  Shocking!

Surprise, a turtle in this lake...

He seemed quite happy to feed and cruise around

The red army ants are still busy around the lake

I often wonder what they do with all those supplies underground

Full zoom to see an Ibis in the egret tree.  We saw 4 of them today.

2 Ibis in this shot.

Music and conversation and food

One of the 2 ducks today
