Too many things roiling on my mind so sleep is interrupted with different thoughts.
Thursday I had my daughter come with me to Bed, Bath and Beyond, a store that is having a closing out sale. We went to the West Edmonton Mall location to discover that everything is basically 30% off. But 30% off expensive is still expensive..... However we did manage to find reasonable bedding, towels, good dishes and cutlery, and a couple of minor items.
Then we were able to get most kitchen utensils and necessities at Dollarama after we had a nice soup and sandwich at a place called Freshii.
In the evening, after a delicious BBQ ribs supper, we watched our Oilers play another amazing game to secure a spot in the upcoming NHL playoffs.
Today I was up early again and redid a reduced online order to Canadian Tire for tools mostly, and pots and pans, and a living room corner table. This time I did not lose the order which they said should be ready around 1:30pm. They actually contacted me at 1:30 that the order was ready for curbside pickup, so I packed up the Juke and brought the haul home.
I had some time before my next appointment so I went back to the distant northside BestBuy store where I dealt with a nice salesman. I try to be loyal that way even though they do not work on commission.. I ended up talking to the former TV section manager who was still their local TV expert. He confirmed my findings that the expensive Sonys have the best ratings and next are the more reasonable Samsungs. I started looking as small as 43" models, but they looked too small for a living room. I moved up to the 55" which would have trouble fitting in the Juke so I sprung for a 65" which they will hold until I move in and come back with a larger vehicle. I negotiated further discounts from the sale price and also on the 4-year warranty... My priority was to get a TV with good ratings, and reliability. Hopefully we have found that...
I was going by the cemetery where Marianne's cubbyhole is, so I stopped to pay my respects. I had only been there one other time in 20 years but still knew exactly where it was, and it still has the picture of her that was taken by me...
I still had a few spare minutes so I managed to find Ravine Estates where I used to live with Marianne. I had thought that it was a little closer than 10 blocks from cousin Jeanne, which was my next destination.
Jeanne was hoping to offer me some things for the new apartment but I have already purchased almost everything I need. I only have 3 major items left to find,.... a printer, a microwave, and a computer desk.
She took me to a place called Blaze Pizza where you can build a good-sized 12" pizza with as many toppings as you want! It was amazing! And the pizza was ready in literally minutes! Of course I had every meat except chicken, and Jeanne's was basically loaded vegetarian.. Delicious!!
Then we made a quick trip to a nearby Costco to check their microwaves but they only had 3 models in stock. Shopping online is getting to be the way to go these days.
So now I have finally made it home and am ready to hit the sack after a long day... Hugs to everyone.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
