Last night Cristina came home with a cute little gray kitten for fostering,- so it is occupying the main bathroom.
We were all ready to go for our walk but hearing raindrops on the roof panels sent us all back to bed.
Then, this morning, Angela came by with 2 baby pigeons, saved from freezing in the water in their eavestrough because the mother died. So now Cristina is fostering them as well. Since they have been warmed and fed, you can almost see the feathers growing rapidly to protect them.
I went out to trim the flowers so hopefully there will be lots of new buds after I am gone. I don't mind the rain, but it sure muddies up the backyard, and hence the house...
We were asked to join Cristina's half-sister today for another family reunion before the half-brother Julian returns to Panama. It was touch-and-go whether we could go because a taxi strike was scheduled for today which usually also meant roadblocks. We checked and it was clear to go,.. so we went, taking 2 taxis each way. Total cost for taxis was $6 for both of us. Considering the condition of the first taxi, we probably could have bought it for that price...
We also brought beer and chips because the brothers like that and we had another round of listening to my Oldies music. Willian can't seem to get enough of that. Anyway it was another lovely evening schmoozing with the family. Julian had just got a tattoo of his daughter on his right bicep which had such amazing detail, it apparently took 5 hours. I told him I wanted my smiling face on his other bicep and that got a good laugh from everyone.
Now it is late, and bedtime.
