Another beautiful sunrise this morning while walking the 4 dogs. It sure is a lovely way to start the day instead of the more common rain that we have been having since January....
I had an appointment this afternoon with my initial physiotherapy doctor specialist who had consulted with me right after my accident. Today she is very pregnant (not my fault) and lovely.
I brought along a description of my symptoms to date in English and Spanish. She does speak a little English so that made things a lot easier. I told her that I am frustrated with the lack of progress and that I really have no pain except occasionally in the arms. My body still has an offended nerve that is leaving me with a feeling of electricity everywhere below the neck and I feel heat wherever I am toucing something else. I suggested trying traction because the injured nerve is obviously in the neck area. She said that traction is not a good idea because I have a plate screwed into my vertebrae....
She viewed me walking normally, then on my toes, then on my heels and said that everything there appears normal.
Because the precribed Gabapent (Gabapentin) does help me get some decent rest, and she says that rest is a very good thing, she prescribed more Gabapent to now be taken twice a day at 300mg strength. She gave me a prescription for the maximum allowed 3 months.
She also told me to continue with my exercises at home and to use my TENS machine to keep stimulating my muscles.
Next she ordered another 10 days of physiotherapy and
she walked over to talk to the physiotherapist and I think that I am
getting more exercises and massages. Damn.
