Yesterday Cristina rescued 2 more large baby birds because they can't seem to get airborne for more than 2 seconds and the parents can't help them. Maybe it is because they are just too fat to get off the
ground for very far. She spent half the evening putting them up in trees but the parents just screeched at her so she brought them inside, afraid that they would get hypothermia. So Mother Goose is at it again...
We went to get the replacement phone for Cristina after lunch and had to wait an hour while he went to get it, and then we had to configure it somewhat, etc. Again, he did not charge
us anything to replace the phone but I gave him $10 as appreciation for his honesty and service. Cristina seems happy with it in the new pink carry case... So if you need a new or used cel phone, or repairs, I highly recommend
Paul at Accesorios y Reparaciones in a tiny inner "mall" a couple of doors from the NW corner of Gran Colombia y Mariano Cueva. Phone or Whatsapp at 098-701-9019. Paul even speaks a little English.
And across the street I did a little scouting for Ken and KP for a warming oven for Joes'. There was a 5 tray oven that may interest them... Keeping food warm for a lot of people is always a major challenge.
We almost got caught in the rain again... Ugh... We noticed that the river was extremely high again so there would no doubt be flooding in the west end today. I feel so sorry for
those poor folks in the low-lying areas.
Tonight was another instalment of the Oldies But Goodies dance. We had about 40 patrons show up out of the 60+ that registered... Typical fair-weather friend response in Ecuador....
Those who did come had an awesome time and helped celebrate Liliam's birthday, and also to say goodbye to Linda and Ron (Sparky) who leave July 1 for Mexico. We are so sad to see them leave.
The next dance is scheduled for July 19th.
