The Provincial Motocross championships were on today and the Benenaula family were again heavily involved. I managed to get photos of Dad Edgar, son Andres and daughter Cristina all riding like the champions they are today. I kept 70 photos of the 259 I did take and I think you will like the selections (lots of air time..). To get most of these shots, I was right at the edge of the track, on the end of a curve leading to the big jump, so I was kinda in harm's way, but ya gotta do what it takes to get the good shots, right??
I got a note from both of my children for Father's Day which was a lovely surprise, and my daughter included this old photo from August 1975 that I did not recall, but just love.... I am very proud of my children, Todd and Jill.
Then my goofy and beautiful wife sent me a note on Facebook somewhere around 10am but I didn't see it. She was telling me that she wanted the father of our 4 dogs to have a special supper with his children for Father's Day. She dragged me away from processing all these photos to give me a gift from our children, a lovely new golf shirt. Then she takes me downstairs and informs me that she wants to take photos of me eating with the 4 dogs.... This I gotta see..!!!!
This crazy girl actually cooked me one of my favourite meals, her first try at making a French-Canadian meat pie called Tourtiere, and did just a tremendous job! It was delicious!! Even the dogs thought so as we had a quick bite at our main dining table to get the photos,... which she did actually manage to do..... And she even made a special Jello dessert, another of my favourites....
I looked at the first 3 photos of me with 3 of the dogs and realized how fitting it was that they were taken below old photos I have of my father in his tractor snow-clearing in 1949, ... and the photos were taken by my Grandfather on my Mom's side!
A glorious day all around... THANK YOU to all my children, two-legged and four-legged, and to the unpredictable Cristina for such an awesome surprise.
I hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day’s excitement.
