Cristina asked what the plans were for today and I said "Nada", so she said let's go get an ice cream by the cathedral. It was truly a glorious morning following the lovely sunrise again today. So we got ready and I added some cash to the wallet, because we have never gone to El Centro without spending usually between $30 and $60. Today was no different. It is all my fault really, because I let her window shop and she inevitably says that she will come back to buy something later in the week because she rarely has much money with her. So I just ask her if she wants it, she smiles and says yes, and another withdrawal is made from the wallet.
Today we had lunch, then ice cream, bought 3 pairs of house pants for Cris, a $3 camera bag for me, 2 lovely shirts as gifts for her mother, and 8 pounds of birdseed.
When we got home I walked the 4 dogs and a family came by with the little boy just chattering about the dogs. The Mom then stopped and asked if they were for sale. I said no, the little one, Jack, is free to a good home. Maybe she was interested in one of the others because she did not continue the conversation and continued on. Almost as soon as I said that Jack was available I was regretting it because the little beggar is worming his way into my heart, just like the other 3. He is getting calmer day by day, and sleeping longer, and he is just another lover, so I know that I would not be able to let him go... You're a keeper you little nuisance..
Then I decided to take Buzzer for a run east along the river and went as far as the Honda bike track where nothing was happening. I was on the lookout for low branches on eucalyptus trees so I could borrow a few to place around windows and closets to keeps bugs and spiders away. Don't laugh, it definitely works.... I did find some low-lying branches along the PanAmerica highway so our house is refreshed again.
I got home and tried to look at my photos only to find that the new Lumix somehow (my errant thumb no doubt) got switched to 4G mode so I had a bunch small movies... ugh. So I had to make still jpgs from each movie, then processed them to png format, and resized them back to jpgs for this blog.... I never pretend to know all the intricacies of my cameras... lol.
Then the heavens opened and we had a tremendous downpour, enough that my fancy roof drainpipe was overshooting my eavestroughs onto my front sidewalk.. Not a big deal really, just unexpected... Now I have to see if it is worth putting a Tee-joint at the bottom to deflect such a downpour into two, but then I worry that it may cause a backup, so maybe the best decision is no decision at all.
I have also volunteered to help some acquaintances with different projects so I hope they are fun. More on those later.
I hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day’s excitement.
Cheers, Al
