Monday night I read until 2:30am again to finish a very long book. I highly recommend "The Border" by Don Winslow. It is a highly detailed and interesting account of relationships between the Drug War and Governments. There are many not-too-veiled references to the existing US President, under a different name...
So Tuesday was a short day where I did not do much other than sleep and read again.
Today, my cel phone was reading "emergency calls only", which was a common occurrence when I was in Ecuador... I tried all the remedies online, restarting the phone 3 times, and still nothing... So I jumped in the Regal and went to my Chatr store. They had extra help there to explain to the throngs of upset customers that there was a problem with the Rogers tower and they had no idea when service would be restored.... Finally, about 2pm, service came back on. Having the Fongo phone in the meantime was handy.
Bob called me to help him pick up a courtesy food basket and $20 in gift cards from his HIV outlet. And we firmed up plans to go out for Wednesday Wings around 5pm. We invited Don to join us because he was feeling left out, and the spirit was willing but his body said No.
Because it rained heavily for 15 minutes, then continued to sprinkle a little, I picked Bob up again in the Regal,... my 3rd trip of the day... We watched a little of the Blue Jays game and enjoyed the lemon-pepper wings at On-The-Rocks.
And yet, here it is, June 25 already and we have seen so little semblance of summer. The rain is welcome because of the forest fires though.
