Friday June 27, 2025

I received my second Temu package order yesterday and Bob came over so I could install a back brace on his scooter.  He was super pleased with it and had no backache when he got home.  That was a first!  He paid me back some more money on his scooter too.

I also called Don to come and look at the new panning tripod head I had bought because I could not find a way to remove my old tripod head from my fancy tripod....  I guess I need more forceful tools...

And I worked on more photos to pass the time, and later watched the Blue Jays win and the Elks lose yet again.... and I caught the end of "Big Jake", my favourite John Wayne/Maureen O'Hara movie...

Today, I checked online for the best all-time espionage authors and a list of the best spy books.  I now have a 4-page list that I will share with Don.

Then I went to the bank to deposit Bob's repayment before heading to the Library to pick up 2 Joseph Kanon books that were on my list.

Next, I saw activity across the street at Churchill Square, so I rode the Gio around, checking out "Groundworks" exhibits.  Sand carvings and woodworking and paintings and clothing were incredible.  I bought yet another cheap pair of sunglasses to keep on the Gio, and I found a nice beach wrap for my wife who has just returned from a beach trip with her niece, Ana.  My friend Marie was good enough to model it later for me so I could send a photo to Cristina.

And I made my way around the Legislature again because there is always activity, even weddings, on nice days like today.

My wife sent me a video of yet another pet she is fostering,... this time it is a baby Iguana!  She knows enough to keep it well away from our menagerie of dogs and cats.  She is also getting adept at checking online on how to care for it...  Oh, and she liked the beach warp with the dolphins.

We are to get nice weather interspersed with the odd rain shower for the coming week.  I can live with that and am looking forward to Canada Day July 1....

UPDATE:  Direct from the Twilight Zone....  While I was cruising Groundworks, right after I bought the beach wrap for Cristina, a lady named Tracey on a wheechair zoomed up to me with her dog Thor, raving about my Gio.  We talked for a while and I gave her a card for Gateway Motorsports and my card.   She said she needed a photographer and would be calling me.  We had both lived near Commonwealth Stadium and been to concerts there.  She has tattoos of rock stars on her arms....

Fast-forward to 7pm, and I get a call on Messenger from my niece, Dawn.  She said she was coming to Edmonton July 4 and wanted me to go with her to meet a friend of her sister and her brother... who is a friend on Facebook,  at Churchill Square.  I said I was just at Churchill.  She said this girl was there too....  You guessed it, her name is Tracey and she has a dog named Thor.....

So I look up Tracey on Facebook and send her a friend request only to see that we share 2 friends, Dawn of course, and my godson Joe from Calgary!!

So, how is that for CRAZY?????

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
