I finished my chores in time to go to the front patio for an ice cream social with our local MLA (Member of the Legislature of Alberta) David Shepherd. It was held outside because our entire social rooms inside are under renovations.
David is of Dutch and Trinidadian heritage and is very smart and informed, representing the opposition NDP party. It was a nice convivial meeting that Mother Nature weighed in on, giving us a brief sprinkle.
The neapolitan ice cream was served by his office manager Claire, who also speaks French, and their summer student help from the U Of A, Aya. They definitely brightened the affair with their affabilty and their smiles.
Now we await the start of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Bob is being affected by the smoke in the air, but Don will come down to watch as he still has not hooked up his TV.
My son's dog is sick so he stayed home to tend to it today. I hope the poor thing did not ingest something poisonous outside and will recover quickly.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
