Our Oilers did not show up for the first period of last night's game and many of us almost turned off our televisions.... BUT, they woke up and played well into overtime to win 5-4 and tie the series... Next game is here on Saturday... I hear that tickets are selling for around $1,300!!!!!!!!
Yes, surviving any Friday the 13th takes an act of will.... It did not start well when I almost backed into a resident walking behind my car.....
I had an appointment to meet up with my son at 12:30pm but I showed up at noon and luckily he was there, because I had a subsequent appointment that I wanted to keep. So I gave him my book "Trials and Tribulations" and we got caught up on the family happenings. I wished him another Happy Birthday. He's 57 now and able to retire with a good pension from his job with the City, but he will hang in a little longer to beef up the amount, because the Canada Pension, etc retirement age is still a ways away... And we wished each other Happy Father's Day and I headed to my next appointment.
The Club50+ was having a seminar at 1pm on loss of memory while aging, etc, in French of course, so I listened but contributed nothing to show off my rusty French. It was interesting in a very broad sense, and I feel good that I am on a good path, eating right, and avoiding alcohol, smoking, etc, exercising the brain, while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I do need more physical exercise though... That is next on my agenda.
So, we soldier on and try to vary our lifestyle a little.
The day was basically gloomy with threatened rain all day and I was glad to see storm clouds on the western horizon but they seem to have drifted by... Drat!!! We really need a heavy rain to quell the forest fires and resulting bad air quality here. Luckily for me, it does not affect me hardly at all, but many of my friends are suffering.
