Sunday October 25, 2020

I hardly slept all night, I don't know why, so I was up earlier than usual and walking the dogs at 4:30am.  Maybe it was too early for Charlie or Negro because we saw neither of them.  It was a nice, uneventful walk but I am still amazed, on a Sunday, how many people are up and how many dogs and cats are about.

Then I had loading problems with RedBubble which I had to leave until later.

I was at David's to watch racing with him, Wolf and Cesar by 8am.  It was just a lovely morning for a drive too.

First up was Formula 1 and we can say that we watched history being made in Portugal as Lewis Hamilton of the Mercedes team became the new all-time winner, 92 races, with a 34.9% winning average!!!!  He is an amazing driver, aggressive and tenacious, and tough to beat, never mind a good example to our youth.  Lewis had the coveted pole position once again, lost the lead early but regained it quickly and again went wire to wire with all top 4 qualifiers keeping their positions as well: Hamilton, Bottas, Verstappen and my guy LeClerc.  This has been the overall story of F1 for some time now.  Congrats to Lewis Hamilton on his amazing milestone.

This was followed by Moto GP from Spain where this year has been topsy-turvy without my guy Marc Marquez to lead the pack.  This time, the Japanese rider, Nakagami, had the pole, but a bad luck crash early crushed his hopes.  Other faves, Binder and Miller also crashed early and we were waiting for a hard charge by Alex Marquez to steal the lead but he too had a crash.  So, veterans Morbidelli (2nd win in a month I think), Rins and Mir took the podium spots.  My other guys, Dovioso and Quartararo struggled.  Honestly, the MotoGP has been the thing to watch this year for excitement.

On my drives to David's I have often seen this old convertible parked on the road so I finally got a couple of nice shots.  Then I saw that the guy had 2 other old cars in his garage, partially under tarps.  I would like to stop and see those some day.  I think one was a '58 Pontiac and the other much older.

I tried agan to finish my work on RedBubble and again had troubles with their awfully slow site today.  With my patience fatally dwindling, I finally got everything accomplished, cursing under my breath the whole way.

Gosh, I know I need exercise, but the heat just saps any energy I might otherwise have...  It is 30.5C as I write this, in the house....

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
