My back is still a little ginger but I manage to walk the 4 dogs every morning, and actually feel better for doing so while wearing my back brace.

As I was doing poop patrol this morning (dreaded Wednesday chore) I saw something strange beside the back steps.  I was shocked to see a dead Pale Spear-Nosed Bat and then remembered seeing Princesa carefully watch a bat swooping low over the yard.  I have no doubt that that is how the poor bat met his/her demise.

I was to go into town with Cristina, drop her off, and continue to go meet David for a burger at La Herradura.  However Cristina changed plans and decided to go in after 1pm by motorcycle with Claudia.  Unfortunately their trip got rained out.

My plans were altered as David is not well and he asked if I would grab the burgers for 3 people, to include Cesar, his helpmate.  So I did get the burger combos and returned to his place.  After munching I told him about the Avro Arrow controversy in Canada so we watched a documentary about it.

I came home to find that Cristina was still home, with Claudia and Daniel.  A short time later, the new adopters for Bebe came to pick her up.  I held my "little shit" for the last time and handed her over with weepy eyes.  I really am going to miss that dog's spirit.  So we are back to only our 10 regular dogs and the kitten we are still fostering.

Aram still had not contacted me to discuss possible work in the area, so I contacted him and he came over.  His main problems, of course, are his lack of Spanish and transportation.  His Visa to the USA is still up in the air, his Iraqi passport expires next month, and he is just vibrating with worry.  In one breath he wants to go to the USA where he has work and their girl, Jireh, can get proper schooling.  Now they are floating the idea of staying in Colombia and moving to Pereira.  I recommended that his wife Liliana phone the US embassy every week to keep their file on the top.

Today I got the sad news that a great-niece, Astena Marsh, passed away in New Brunswick at age 19.  If memory serves me, she was born with an enlarged heart and managed to have a life-saving heart transplant in the nick of time, in Edmonton when still a toddler at age 3.  I remember vividly visiting this courageous little girl so many years ago.  RIP dear Astena.

I hope you enjoy the pictures (Backwards again, Grrrrrr).  That was the day’s excitement.
