Happy Birthday to my lovely sister Leonie (everyone says that we look alike).

We were up fairly early, expecting an early delivery by HomeCenter of the plain door that we had bought Tuesday to ease our "passageway".  To keep the dogs away from the living room, car, and front door, we have been moving a plastic cabinet with tools back and forth whenever we had to go in that area.  It is heavy, awkward and cumbersome and getting harder every day.  I had enough of that and came up with hopefully a great solution.

HomeCenter showed up at 5pm.

You would think that I had measured it perfectly (but I truly didn't) and the door fits exactly where we need it!  It took mere minutes to add four felt "feet" for a smooth glide, and screw on a handle.  It slides beautifully between the cabinets now and we hope thecabinets on either side are solid enough to keep the dogs from pushing them aside when they get frenzied.  This was a simple, cheap solution to a nagging problem and I want to thank my dear father for teaching me to think over such a problem before fixing.  Thanks Dad.

I actually took a small video of the Golden Silk Spider for you to appreciate:

https://youtu.be/MTihc1gTiz8

I was mystified by the small spider out back which looks like a piece of debris to the untrained eye but which can really scamper on almost hidden legs.  Cristina says they are common and these spiders have a shell like a turtle.  I think I have identified it as a Jewel Spider (Austracantha Minax) but I can't be certain yet.  Its undercarriage is amazingly complex!  I actually joined a spider identification site to find out more about these scary creatures.

Cristina bought some dog food and a huge dog bed.  The bed was 54,000 pesos or under $14 USD!!  I can imagine what such a bed would cost in Canada,... I figure $75 minimum.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  Again, they are all backwards... Thank you Blogger for screwing up everything once again.  That was the day’s excitement.
